25Andas they boundhim with thongs, Paulsaidunto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawfulㆍ for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, anduncondemned?
25 And when they had put leather bands round him, Paul said to the captain who was present, Is it the law for you to give blows to a man who is a Roman and has not been judged?
25 가죽줄로 바울을 매니 바울이 곁에 섰는 백부장더러 이르되 너희가 로마 사람 된 자를 죄도 정치 아니하고 채찍질할 수 있느냐 하니

26When the centurionheardthat, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heedwhat thou doestㆍ: forthismanis a Roman.
26 And hearing this, the man went to the chief captain and gave him an account of it, saying, What are you about to do? for this man is a Roman.
26 백부장이 듣고 가서 천부장에게 전하여 가로되 어찌하려 하느뇨 이는 로마 사람이라 하니

BBE: And hearing this, the man went to the chief captain and gave him an account of it, saying, What are you about to do? for this man is a Roman. 27Then the chief captaincame, and said unto him, Tellmeㆍ, artthou a Roman?ㆍ He said, Yea.
27 And the chief captain came to him and said, Give me an answer, are you a Roman? And he said, Yes.
27 천부장이 와서 바울에게 말하되 네가 로마사람이냐 내게 말하라 가로되 그러하다
[x]MKJV: And coming up the chiliarch said to him, Tell me, are you a Roman? And He said, Yes. BBE: And the chief captain came to him and said, Give me an answer, are you a Roman? And he said, Yes. KAV: 이에 총대장이 와서 그에게 이르되, 내게 말하라. 네가 로마 사람이냐? 하매 그가 이르되, 그러하다, 하거늘
28And the chief captainanswered, With a greatsumobtainedIthisfreedom. AndPaulsaid, ButIwasfreeborn.
28 And the chief captain said, I got Roman rights for myself at a great price. And Paul said, But I had them by birth.
28 천부장이 대답하되 나는 돈을 많이 들여 이 시민권을 얻었노라 바울이 가로되 나는 나면서부터로라 하니

BBE: And the chief captain said, I got Roman rights for myself at a great price. And Paul said, But I had them by birth. KAV: 총대장이 응답하되, 나는 많은 돈을 들여 이 자유를 얻었노라, 하니 바울이 이르되, 나는 나면서부터 자유한 자니라, 하니라.
29Thenstraightway they departedfromhimwhichshould have examinedhim: and the chief captainalso was afraid, after he knewthat he was a Roman, andbecause he hadboundhim.
29 Then those who were about to put him to the test went away: and the chief captain was in fear, seeing that he was a Roman, and that he had put chains on him.
29 신문하려던 사람들이 곧 그에게서 물러가고 천부장도 그가 로마 사람인줄 알고 또는 그 결박한 것을 인하여 두려워하니라
[x]MKJV: Then immediately, those being about to examine him stood away from him. And the chiliarch also was afraid, fully knowing that he was a Roman, and that he had bound him. BBE: Then those who were about to put him to the test went away: and the chief captain was in fear, seeing that he was a Roman, and that he had put chains on him.
