1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.	1 And Saul gave approval to his death. Now at that time a violent attack was started against the church in Jerusalem; and all but the Apostles went away into all parts of Judaea and Samaria.	1 사울이 그의 죽임 당함을 마땅히 여기더라 그 날에 예루살렘에 있는 교회에 큰 핍박이 나서 사도 외에는 다 유대와 사마리아 모든 땅으로 흩어지니라

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.	2 And God-fearing men put Stephen's body in its last resting-place, making great weeping over him.	2 경건한 사람들이 스데반을 장사하고 위하여 크게 울더라

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling ㆍ men and women committed them to prison.	3 But Saul was burning with hate against the church, going into every house and taking men and women and putting them in prison.	3 사울이 교회를 잔멸할쌔 각집에 들어가 남녀를 끌어다가 옥에 넘기니라

영문학의 위대한 고전인 KJV 영어 성경의 영어(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
