15 And the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew women who gave help at the time of childbirth (the name of the one was Shiphrah and the name of the other Puah),
15 애굽 왕이 히브리 산파 십브라라 하는 자와 부아라 하는 자에게 일러

16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and seethem upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.
16 When you are looking after the Hebrew women in childbirth, if it is a son you are to put him to death; but if it is a daughter, she may go on living.
16 가로되 너희는 히브리 여인을 위하여 조산할 때에 살펴서 남자여든 죽이고 여자여든 그는 살게 두라
[x]MKJV: And he said, When you midwife the Hebrew women, and look on the birth stools, if it [is] a son, then you shall kill him. But if it [is] a daughter, then she shall live. 17 But the midwivesfearedGod, and did not as the king of Egyptcommanded them, but saved the men childrenalive.
17 But the women had the fear of God, and did not do as the king of Egypt said, but let the male children go on living.
18 And the king of Egyptcalled for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men childrenalive?
18 And the king of Egypt sent for the women, and said to them, Why have you done this, and let the male children go on living?
18 애굽 왕이 산파를 불러서 그들에게 이르되 너희가 어찌 이같이 하여 남자를 살렸느냐

19 And the midwivessaid unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrewwomenare not as the Egyptian women; for they arelively, and are deliveredere the midwives come in unto them.

19 산파가 바로에게 대답하되 히브리 여인은 애굽 여인과 같지 아니하고 건장하여 산파가 그들에게 이르기 전에 해산하였더이다 하매

20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the peoplemultiplied, and waxed verymighty.
20 And the blessing of God was on these women: and the people were increased in number and became very strong.
22 And Pharaohcharged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
22 And Pharaoh gave orders to all his people, saying, Every son who comes to birth is to be put into the river, but every daughter may go on living.
