Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;2 Son of man, give out a dark saying, and make a comparison for the children of Israel,2 인자야 너는 수수께끼와 비유를 이스라엘 족속에게 베풀어
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged ㆍ, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:3 And say, This is what the Lord has said: A great eagle with great wings, full of long feathers of different colours, came to Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar:3 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 채색이 구비하고 날개가 크고 깃이 길고 털이 숱한 큰 독수리가 레바논에 이르러 백향목 높은 가지를 취하되
He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffic; he set it in a city of merchants.4 Biting off the highest of its young branches, he took it to the land of Canaan, and put it in a town of traders.4 그 연한 가지 끝을 꺾어 가지고 장사하는 땅에 이르러 상고의 성읍에 두고
He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.5 And he took some of the seed of the land, planting it in fertile earth, placing it by great waters; he put it in like a willow-tree.5 또 그 땅의 종자를 취하여 옥토에 심되 수양버들 가지 처럼 큰 물 가에 심더니
And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.6 And its growth went on and it became a vine, low and widely stretching, whose branches were turned to him and its roots were under him: so it became a vine, putting out branches and young leaves.6 그것이 자라며 퍼져서 높지 아니한 포도나무 곧 굵은 가지와 가는 가지가 난 포도나무가 되어 그 가지는 독수리를 향하였고 그 뿌리는 독수리의 아래 있었더라
There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.7 And there was another eagle with great wings and thick feathers: and now this vine, pushing out its roots to him, sent out its branches in his direction from the bed where it was planted, so that he might give it water.7 또 날개가 크고 털이 많은 큰 독수리 하나가 있었는데 그 포도나무가 이 독수리에게 물을 받으려고 그 심긴 두둑에서 그를 향하여 뿌리가 발하고 가지가 퍼졌도다
It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.8 He had it planted in a good field by great waters so that it might put out branches and have fruit and be a strong vine.8 그 포도나무를 큰 물 가 옥토에 심은 것은 가지를 내고 열매를 맺어서 아름다운 포도나무를 이루게 하려 하였음이니라
Say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.9 Say, This is what the Lord has said: Will it do well? will he not have its roots pulled up and its branches cut off, so that all its young leaves may become dry and it may be pulled up by its roots?9 너는 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 그 나무가 능히 번성하겠느냐 이 독수리가 어찌 그 뿌리를 빼고 실과를 따며 그 나무로 시들게 하지 아니하겠으며 그 연한 잎사귀로 마르게 하지 아니하겠느냐 많은 백성이나 강한 팔이 아니라도 그 뿌리를 뽑으리라
Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.10 And if it is planted will it do well? will it not become quite dry at the touch of the east wind, drying up in the bed where it was planted?10 볼찌어다 그것이 심겼으나 번성하겠느냐 동풍이 부딪힐 때에 아주 마르지 아니하겠느냐 그 자라던 두둑에서 마르리라 하셨다 하라
