17WhereinㆍGod, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of hiscounsel, confirmedit by an oath:
17 So that when it was God's desire to make it specially clear to those who by his word were to have the heritage, that his purpose was fixed, he made it more certain with an oath;
17 하나님은 약속을 기업으로 받는 자들에게 그 뜻이 변치 아니함을 충분히 나타내시려고 그 일에 맹세로 보증하셨나니
18Thatbytwoimmutablethings, inwhichit wasimpossible for God to lie, we might have a strongconsolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
18 So that we, who have gone in flight from danger to the hope which has been put before us, may have a strong comfort in two unchanging things, in which it is not possible for God to be false;
18 이는 하나님이 거짓말을 하실 수 없는 이 두 가지 변치 못할 사실을 인하여 앞에 있는 소망을 얻으려고 피하여 가는 우리로 큰 안위를 받게 하려 하심이라
