2Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possessioncities to dwell in; and ye shall givealso unto the Levitessuburbs for the cities round about them.
2 Give orders to the children of Israel to give to the Levites, from the heritage which is theirs, towns for themselves, with land on the outskirts of the towns.
2 이스라엘 자손에게 명하여 그들의 얻은 기업에서 레위인에게 거할 성읍들을 주게 하고 너희는 또 그 성읍 사면의 들을 레위인에게 주어서

3 And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.
3 These towns are to be their living-places, with land round them for their cattle and their food and all their beasts,
3 성읍으로는 그들의 거처가 되게 하고 들로는 그들의 가축과 물산과 짐승들을 둘 곳이 되게 할 것이라

4 And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousandcubits round about.
4 Stretching from the wall of the towns a distance of a thousand cubits all round.
4 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성읍들의 들은 성벽에서부터 밖으로 사면 이천 규빗이라
[x]MKJV: And the open lands of the cities which you shall give to the Levites [shall reach] from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits all around. BBE: Stretching from the wall of the towns a distance of a thousand cubits all round. KAV: 너희가 레위 사람들에게 줄 도시들의 주변 지역은 도시의 성벽에서부터 밖으로 사방 천 큐빗이 되리라.
5 And ye shall measure from without the city on the eastside two thousandcubits, and on the southside two thousandcubits, and on the westside two thousandcubits, and on the northside two thousandcubits; and the cityshall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.
5 The measure of this space of land is to be two thousand cubits outside the town on the east, and two thousand cubits on the south and on the west and on the north, the town being in the middle. This space will be the outskirts of their towns.
5 성을 중앙에 두고 성 밖 동편으로 이천 규빗, 남편으로 이천 규빗, 서편으로 이천 규빗, 북편으로 이천 규빗을 측량할찌니 이는 그들의 성읍의 들이며

6 And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levitesthere shall besixcities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall addforty and twocities.
6 And the towns which you give the Levites are to be the six safe places to which the taker of life may go in flight; and in addition you are to give them forty-two towns.
6 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성읍은 살인자로 피케 할 도피성으로 여섯 성읍이요 그 외에 사십 이 성읍이라

And you shall add forty-two cities to them. 7 Forty-eight towns are to be given to the Levites, all with land round them.
7 너희가 레위인에게 모두 사십 팔 성읍을 주고 그 들도 함께 주되

8 And the cities which ye shall giveshall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that havemany ye shall give many; but from them that havefew ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levitesaccording to his inheritance which he inheriteth.
8 And these towns are to be given out of the heritage of the children of Israel, taking the greater number from those who have much, and a smaller number from those who have little: everyone, in the measure of his heritage, is to give of his property to the Levites.
8 이스라엘 자손의 산업에서 레위인에게 너희가 성읍을 줄 때에 많이 얻은 자에게서는 많이 취하여 주고 적게 얻은 자에게서는 적게 취하여 줄 것이라 각기 얻은 산업을 따라서 그 성읍들을 레위인에게 줄찌니라
