2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.	2 You have knowledge when I am seated and when I get up, you see my thoughts from far away.	2 주께서 나의 앉고 일어섬을 아시며 멀리서도 나의 생각을 통촉하시오며

3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.	3 You keep watch over my steps and my sleep, and have knowledge of all my ways.	3 나의 길과 눕는 것을 감찰하시며 나의 모든 행위를 익히 아시오니

4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.	4 For there is not a word on my tongue which is not clear to you, O Lord.	4 여호와여 내 혀의 말을 알지 못하시는 것이 하나도 없으시니이다

영문학의 위대한 고전인 KJV 영어 성경의 영어(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
