1 A Psalm of David.] The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?	1 «Of David.» The Lord is my light and my salvation; who is then a cause of fear to me? the Lord is the strength of my life; who is a danger to me?	1 여호와는 나의 빛이요 나의 구원이시니 내가 누구를 두려워하리요 여호와는 내 생명의 능력이시니 내가 누구를 무서워하리요

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.	2 When evil-doers, even my haters, came on me to put an end to me, they were broken and put to shame.	2 나의 대적, 나의 원수된 행악자가 내 살을 먹으려고 내게로 왔다가 실족하여 넘어졌도다

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.	3 Even if an army came against me with its tents, my heart would have no fear: if war was made on me, my faith would not be moved.	3 군대가 나를 대적하여 진 칠찌라도 내 마음이 두렵지 아니하며 전쟁이 일어나 나를 치려 할찌라도 내가 오히려 안연하리로다

영문학의 위대한 고전인 KJV 영어 성경의 영어(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
