여인과 큰 붉은 용의 형상으로 그리스도의 교회와 사탄이 묘사되다. (1-6) 미가엘과 그의 천사들이 마귀와 그 천사들을 대적하여 싸우고, 그들이 패하다. (7-12) 용이 교회를 박해하다. (13,14) 그의 헛된 노력이 교회를 멸하려 하며, 그녀의 후손을 대적하여 다시 싸우다. (14-17)
17And the dragon was wrothwith the woman, andwent to makewarwith the remnant of herseed, whichkeep the commandments of God, andhave the testimony of JesusChrist.
17 And the dragon was angry with the woman and went away to make war on the rest of her seed, who keep the orders of God, and the witness of Jesus:
17 용이 여자에게 분노하여 돌아가서 그 여자의 남은 자손 곧 하나님의 계명을 지키며 예수의 증거를 가진 자들로 더불어 싸우려고 바다 모래 위에 섰더라
