Q35. What is the meaning of Conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary?

That the eternal Son of God, who is and continues true and eternal God, took upon Him the very nature of man, of the flesh and blood of the Virgin Mary, by the operation of the Holy Ghost, so that He also might be the true seed of David, like unto his brethren in all things, sin excepted.

문 35. “성령으로 잉태되어 동정녀 마리아에게서 나셨다”는 말은 무슨 뜻입니까?

참되고 영원하신 하나님이시며 계속 그러하신 하나님의 영원한 아들께서, 성령의 역사로 동정녀 마리아의 살과 피에서 참된 인성을 취하셨다는 뜻입니다. 그리하여 그분은 다윗의 참된 후손이 되셨으며, 죄를 제외한 모든 점에서 형제들과 같아지셨습니다.

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

35 천사가 대답하여 가로되 성령이 네게 임하시고 지극히 높으신 이의 능력이 너를 덮으시리니 이러므로 나실바 거룩한 자는 하나님의 아들이라 일컬으리라

히브리서 4:15

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

15 우리에게 있는 대제사장은 우리 연약함을 체휼하지 아니하는 자가 아니요 모든 일에 우리와 한결 같이 시험을 받은 자로되 죄는 없으시니라

로마서 1:3, 4

3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

3 이 아들로 말하면 육신으로는 다윗의 혈통에서 나셨고

4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

4 성결의 영으로는 죽은 가운데서 부활하여 능력으로 하나님의 아들로 인정되셨으니 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도시니라

로마서 9:5

5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

5 조상들도 저희 것이요 육신으로 하면 그리스도가 저희에게서 나셨으니 저는 만물 위에 계셔 세세에 찬양을 받으실 하나님이시니라 아멘

요한복음 1:14

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

14 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라

빌립보서 2:6, 7

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

6 그는 근본 하나님의 본체시나 하나님과 동등됨을 취할 것으로 여기지 아니하시고

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

7 오히려 자기를 비어 종의 형체를 가져 사람들과 같이 되었고

히브리서 2:17

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

17 그러므로 저가 범사에 형제들과 같이 되심이 마땅하도다 이는 하나님의 일에 자비하고 충성된 대제사장이 되어 백성의 죄를 구속하려 하심이라

Q36. What benefit dost thou receive from the holy conception and birth of Christ?

That He is our Mediator, and with His innocence and perfect holiness covers, in the sight of God, my sin wherein I was conceived.

문 36. 그리스도의 거룩한 잉태와 탄생은 당신에게 어떤 유익을 줍니까?

그분은 우리의 중보자이시며, 제가 잉태될 때부터 지닌 죄를 자신의 무죄하심과 완전한 거룩하심으로 하나님 앞에서 덮어 주십니다.
