Q46. How dost thon understand the words, He ascended into Heaven?

That Christ, in sight of His disciples, was taken up from the earth into heaven, and in our behalf there continues, until He shall come again to judge the living and the dead.

문 46. “하늘에 오르셨다”는 말은 무슨 뜻입니까?

그리스도께서 제자들이 보는 가운데 땅에서 하늘로 올려지셨으며, 살아 있는 자들과 죽은 자들을 심판하러 다시 오실 때까지 우리를 위하여 그곳에 계속 계신다는 뜻입니다.

Q47. Is not, then, Christ with us even unto the end of the world, as He has promised?

Christ is true Man and true God: according to His human nature, He is now not upon earth; but according to His Godhead, majesty, grace, and Spirit, He is at no time absent from us.

문 47. 그렇다면 그리스도께서는 약속하신 대로 세상 끝날까지 우리와 함께 계시지 않는 것입니까?

그리스도께서는 참 사람이시며 참 하나님이십니다. 인성에 따라서는 지금 땅 위에 계시지 않지만, 신성과 위엄과 은혜와 성령에 따라서는 어느 때에도 우리를 떠나 계시지 않습니다.

Q48. But are not, in this way, the two natures in Christ separated from one another, if the Manhood be not wherever the Godhead is?

By no means; for since the Godhead is incomprehensible and every where present, it must follow that it is indeed beyond the bounds of the Manhood which it has assumed, but is yet none the less in the same also, and remains personally united to it.

문 48. 인성이 신성이 계신 모든 곳에 있지 않다면, 그리스도 안의 두 본성이 서로 분리되는 것이 아닙니까?

결코 그렇지 않습니다. 신성은 다 헤아릴 수 없고 어디에나 계시므로, 취하신 인성의 범위를 초월하면서도 동시에 그 인성 안에도 계시며, 그 인성과 위격적으로 연합된 채로 계시기 때문입니다.

Q49. What benefit do we receive from Christi ascension into heaven?

First, that He is our Advocate in the presence of His Father in heaven. Secondly, that we have our flesh in heaven, as a sure pledge that He, as the Head, will also take us, His members, up to Himself. Thirdly, that He sends us His Spirit, as an earnest, by whose power we seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God, and not things on the earth.

문 49. 그리스도께서 하늘에 오르신 일에서 우리는 어떤 유익을 받습니까?

첫째, 그분은 하늘에 계신 성부 앞에서 우리의 대언자가 되십니다. 둘째, 우리의 육체가 하늘에 있다는 것은 머리이신 그분이 지체인 우리도 자신에게로 들어 올리실 것에 대한 확실한 보증입니다. 셋째, 그분은 우리에게 성령을 보증으로 보내십니다. 그 성령의 능력으로 우리는 땅의 것이 아니라 위의 것, 곧 그리스도께서 하나님의 오른편에 앉아 계신 곳의 것을 구합니다.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

2 내 아버지 집에 거할 곳이 많도다 그렇지 않으면 너희에게 일렀으리라 내가 너희를 위하여 처소를 예비하러 가노니

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

3 가서 너희를 위하여 처소를 예비하면 내가 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 나 있는 곳에 너희도 있게 하리라

히브리서 9:24

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

24 그리스도께서는 참 것의 그림자인 손으로 만든 성소에 들어가지 아니하시고 오직 참 하늘에 들어가사 이제 우리를 위하여 하나님 앞에 나타나시고

로마서 8:31

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

31 그런즉 이 일에 대하여 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 만일 하나님이 우리를 위하시면 누가 우리를 대적하리요

요한복음 17:24

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

24 아버지여 내게 주신 자도 나 있는 곳에 나와 함께 있어 아버지께서 창세 전부터 나를 사랑하시므로 내게 주신 나의 영광을 저희로 보게 하시기를 원하옵나이다

고린도후서 1:21, 22

21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

21 우리를 너희와 함께 그리스도 안에서 견고케 하시고 우리에게 기름을 부으신 이는 하나님이시니

22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
