Q125. What is the fourth petition?

Give us this day our daily bread. That is: Be pleased to provide for all our bodily need, that we may thereby know that Thou art the only fountain of all good, and that without Thy blessing neither our care and labor nor Thy gifts can profit us, and may therefore withdraw our trust from all creatures, and place it alone in Thee.

문 125. 넷째 간구는 무엇입니까?

“오늘날 우리에게 일용할 양식을 주옵시고”입니다. 곧 몸에 필요한 모든 것을 공급하여, 주님만이 모든 선의 유일한 근원이심을 알게 해 달라는 기도입니다. 또한 주님의 복 주심 없이는 우리의 염려와 수고나 주님의 선물조차 우리에게 유익을 주지 못함을 알게 하시고, 모든 피조물에게 둔 신뢰를 거두어 오직 주님만을 의지하게 해 달라는 기도입니다.

16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

시편 127:1, 2

1 A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

1 여호와께서 집을 세우지 아니하시면 세우는 자의 수고가 헛되며 여호와께서 성을 지키지 아니하시면 파숫군의 경성함이 허사로다

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

2 너희가 일찌기 일어나고 늦게 누우며 수고의 떡을 먹음이 헛되도다 그러므로 여호와께서 그 사랑하시는 자에게는 잠을 주시는도다

예레미야 17:5, 7

5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

5 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 무릇 사람을 믿으며 혈육으로 그 권력을 삼고 마음이 여호와에게서 떠난 그 사람은 저주를 받을 것이라

7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

17 각양 좋은 은사와 온전한 선물이 다 위로부터 빛들의 아버지께로서 내려오나니 그는 변함도 없으시고 회전하는 그림자도 없으시니라

25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

25 또 무엇이 부족한 것처럼 사람의 손으로 섬김을 받으시는 것이 아니니 이는 만민에게 생명과 호흡과 만물을 친히 주시는 자이심이라

시편 55:23

23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

23 하나님이여 주께서 저희로 파멸의 웅덩이에 빠지게 하시리이다 피를 흘리게 하며 속이는 자들은 저희 날의 반도 살지 못할 것이나 나는 주를 의지하리이다

8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
