27장 성도의 교제

Of the Communion of Saints

1. All saints that are united to Jesus Christ, their head, by his Spirit, and faith, although they are not made thereby one person with him, have fellowship in his graces, sufferings, death, resurrection, and glory;¹ and, being united to one another in love, they have communion in each others gifts and graces,² and are obliged to the performance of such duties, public and private, in an orderly way, as do conduce to their mutual good, both in the inward and outward man.³

1. 성령과 믿음으로 머리이신 예수 그리스도와 연합한 모든 성도는, 이 연합으로 그분과 한 인격이 되는 것은 아니지만, 그분의 은혜와 고난과 죽음과 부활과 영광에 함께 참여한다.¹ 또한 사랑 안에서 서로 연합되어 각자의 은사와 은혜를 함께 나누며,² 속사람과 겉사람 모두의 상호 유익에 도움이 되는 공적·사적 의무를 질서 있게 수행할 책임이 있다.³

요한일서 1:3

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

요한복음 1:16

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

빌립보서 3:10

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

에베소서 4:15-16

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

16 그에게서 온 몸이 각 마디를 통하여 도움을 입음으로 연락하고 상합하여 각 지체의 분량대로 역사하여 그 몸을 자라게 하며 사랑 안에서 스스로 세우느니라

고린도전서 12:7

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

고린도전서 3:21-23

21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

14 또 형제들아 너희를 권면하노니 규모 없는 자들을 권계하며 마음이 약한 자들을 안위하고 힘이 없는 자들을 붙들어 주며 모든 사람을 대하여 오래 참으라

로마서 1:12

12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

12 이는 곧 내가 너희 가운데서 너희와 나의 믿음을 인하여 피차 안위함을 얻으려 함이라

요한일서 3:17-18

17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

17 누가 이 세상 재물을 가지고 형제의 궁핍함을 보고도 도와줄 마음을 막으면 하나님의 사랑이 어찌 그 속에 거할까보냐

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

18 자녀들아 우리가 말과 혀로만 사랑하지 말고 오직 행함과 진실함으로 하자

갈라디아서 6:10

10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

10 그러므로 우리는 기회 있는대로 모든 이에게 착한 일을 하되 더욱 믿음의 가정들에게 할찌니라

2. Saints by profession are bound to maintain a holy fellowship and communion in the worship of God, and in performing such other spiritual services as tend to their mutual edification;⁴ as also in relieving each other in outward things according to their several abilities, and necessities;⁵ which communion, according to the rule of the gospel, though especially to be exercised by them, in the relation wherein they stand, whether in families,⁶ or churches,⁷ yet, as God offers opportunity, is to be extended to all the household of faith, even all those who in every place call upon the name of the Lord Jesus; nevertheless their communion one with another as saints, does not take away or infringe the title or propriety which each man has in his goods and possessions.⁸

2. 성도들은 신앙 고백에 따라, 하나님께 예배하며 서로를 세우는 데 도움이 되는 다른 영적 봉사를 행하는 가운데 거룩한 교제와 나눔을 유지할 의무가 있다.⁴ 또한 각자의 능력과 필요에 따라 물질적인 일에서도 서로 도와야 한다.⁵ 복음의 규칙에 따라 이 교제는 특별히 각자가 속한 관계, 곧 가정이나⁶ 교회 안에서 실천되어야 한다.⁷ 그러나 하나님께서 기회를 주시는 대로 믿음의 온 가족, 곧 모든 곳에서 주 예수의 이름을 부르는 모든 사람에게까지 확대되어야 한다. 그럼에도 성도들 상호 간의 교제가 각 사람이 자기 재산과 소유에 대하여 갖는 권리와 소유권을 없애거나 침해하지 않는다.⁸

히브리서 10:24-25

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

24 서로 돌아보아 사랑과 선행을 격려하며

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

25 모이기를 폐하는 어떤 사람들의 습관과 같이 하지 말고 오직 권하여 그날이 가까움을 볼수록 더욱 그리하자

히브리서 3:12-13

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

12 형제들아 너희가 삼가 혹 너희 중에 누가 믿지 아니하는 악심을 품고 살아 계신 하나님에게서 떨어질까 염려할 것이요

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

13 오직 오늘이라 일컫는 동안에 매일 피차 권면하여 너희 중에 누구든지 죄의 유혹으로 강퍅케 됨을 면하라

사도행전 11:29-30

29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

4 또 아비들아 너희 자녀를 노엽게 하지 말고 오직 주의 교양과 훈계로 양육하라

고린도전서 12:14-27

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

14 몸은 한 지체뿐 아니요 여럿이니

15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

15 만일 발이 이르되 나는 손이 아니니 몸에 붙지 아니하였다 할찌라도 이로 인하여 몸에 붙지 아니한 것이 아니요

16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 또 귀가 이르되 나는 눈이 아니니 몸에 붙지 아니하였다 할찌라도 이로 인하여 몸에 붙지 아니한 것이 아니니

17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

17 만일 온 몸이 눈이면 듣는 곳은 어디며 온 몸이 듣는 곳이면 냄새 맡는 곳은 어디뇨

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

18 그러나 이제 하나님이 그 원하시는대로 지체를 각각 몸에 두셨으니

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

19 만일 다 한 지체 뿐이면 몸은 어디뇨

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

20 이제 지체는 많으나 몸은 하나라

21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

21 눈이 손더러 내가 너를 쓸데 없다 하거나 또한 머리가 발더러 내가 너를 쓸데 없다 하거나 하지 못하리라

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

22 이뿐 아니라 몸의 더 약하게 보이는 지체가 도리어 요긴하고

23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

23 우리가 몸의 덜 귀히 여기는 그것들을 더욱 귀한 것들로 입혀 주며 우리의 아름답지 못한 지체는 더욱 아름다운 것을 얻고

24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:

24 우리의 아름다운 지체는 요구할 것이 없으니 오직 하나님이 몸을 고르게 하여 부족한 지체에게 존귀를 더하사

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

25 몸 가운데서 분쟁이 없고 오직 여러 지체가 서로 같이하여 돌아보게 하셨으니

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

26 만일 한 지체가 고통을 받으면 모든 지체도 함께 고통을 받고 한 지체가 영광을 얻으면 모든 지체도 함께 즐거워하나니

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

27 너희는 그리스도의 몸이요 지체의 각 부분이라

사도행전 5:4

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

4 땅이 그대로 있을 때에는 네 땅이 아니며 판 후에도 네 임의로 할 수가 없더냐 어찌하여 이 일을 네 마음에 두었느냐 사람에게 거짓말 한 것이 아니요 하나님께로다

에베소서 4:28

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

28 도적질하는 자는 다시 도적질하지 말고 돌이켜 빈궁한 자에게 구제할 것이 있기 위하여 제 손으로 수고하여 선한 일을 하라
