32장 최후의 심판

Of the Last Judgement

1. God has appointed a day wherein he will judge the world in righteousness, by Jesus Christ;¹ to whom all power and judgment is given of the Father; in which day, not only the apostate angels shall be judged,² but likewise all persons that have lived upon the earth shall appear before the tribunal of Christ, to give an account of their thoughts, words, and deeds, and to receive according to what they have done in the body, whether good or evil.³

1. 하나님은 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 세상을 의롭게 심판하실 날을 정하셨다.¹ 성부께서는 그리스도께 모든 권세와 심판을 주셨다. 그날에는 타락한 천사들뿐 아니라,² 땅 위에 살았던 모든 사람이 그리스도의 심판대 앞에 나타나 자신의 생각과 말과 행위를 결산하고, 몸으로 행한 선악에 따라 보응을 받을 것이다.³

사도행전 17:31

31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

31 이는 정하신 사람으로 하여금 천하를 공의로 심판할 날을 작정하시고 이에 저를 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리신 것으로 모든 사람에게 믿을만한 증거를 주셨음이니라 하니라

요한복음 5:22-27

22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

22 아버지께서 아무도 심판하지 아니하시고 심판을 다 아들에게 맡기셨으니

23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

23 이는 모든 사람으로 아버지를 공경하는 것 같이 아들을 공경하게 하려 하심이라 아들을 공경치 아니하는 자는 그를 보내신 아버지를 공경치 아니하느니라

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

27 또 인자됨을 인하여 심판하는 권세를 주셨느니라

고린도전서 6:3

3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

3 우리가 천사를 판단할 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 그러하거든 하물며 세상 일이랴

유다서 1:6

6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

6 또 자기 지위를 지키지 아니하고 자기 처소를 떠난 천사들을 큰 날의 심판까지 영원한 결박으로 흑암에 가두셨으며

고린도후서 5:10

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

10 이는 우리가 다 반드시 그리스도의 심판대 앞에 드러나 각각 선악간에 그 몸으로 행한 것을 따라 받으려 함이라

전도서 12:14

14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

14 하나님은 모든 행위와 모든 은밀한 일을 선악간에 심판하시리라

마태복음 12:36

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

36 내가 너희에게 이르노니 사람이 무슨 무익한 말을 하든지 심판날에 이에 대하여 심문을 받으리니

로마서 14:10, 12

10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

10 네가 어찌하여 네 형제를 판단하느뇨 어찌하여 네 형제를 업신여기느뇨 우리가 다 하나님의 심판대 앞에 서리라

12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

12 이러므로 우리 각인이 자기 일을 하나님께 직고하리라

마태복음 25:32-46

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

32 모든 민족을 그 앞에 모으고 각각 분별하기를 목자가 양과 염소를 분별하는것 같이 하여

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

33 양은 그 오른편에, 염소는 왼편에 두리라

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

34 그 때에 임금이 그 오른편에 있는 자들에게 이르시되 내 아버지께 복 받을 자들이여 나아와 창세로부터 너희를 위하여 예비된 나라를 상속하라

35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

35 내가 주릴 때에 너희가 먹을 것을 주었고 목마를 때에 마시게 하였고 나그네 되었을 때에 영접하였고

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

36 벗었을 때에 옷을 입혔고 병들었을 때에 돌아보았고 옥에 갇혔을 때에 와서 보았느니라

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

37 이에 의인들이 대답하여 가로되 주여 우리가 어느 때에 주의 주리신 것을 보고 공궤하였으며 목마르신 것을 보고 마시게 하였나이까

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

38 어느 때에 나그네 되신 것을 보고 영접하였으며 벗으신 것을 보고 옷 입혔나이까

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

39 어느 때에 병드신 것이나 옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 가서 뵈었나이까 하리니

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

40 임금이 대답하여 가라사대 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희가 여기 내 형제 중에 지극히 작은 자 하나에게 한 것이 곧 내게 한 것이니라 하시고

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

41 또 왼편에 있는 자들에게 이르시되 저주를 받은 자들아 나를 떠나 마귀와 그 사자들을 위하여 예비된 영영한 불에 들어가라

42 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

42 내가 주릴 때에 너희가 먹을 것을 주지 아니하였고 목마를 때에 마시게 하지 아니하였고

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

43 나그네 되었을 때에 영접하지 아니하였고 벗었을 때에 옷 입히지 아니하였고 병들었을 때와 옥에 갇혔을 때에 돌아보지 아니하였느니라 하시니

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

44 저희도 대답하여 가로되 주여 우리가 어느 때에 주의 주리신 것이나 목마르신 것이나 나그네 되신 것이나 벗으신 것이나 병드신 것이나 옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 공양치 아니하더이까

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

45 이에 임금이 대답하여 가라사대 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이 지극히 작은 자 하나에게 하지 아니한 것이 곧 내게 하지 아니한 것이니라 하시리니

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

46 저희는 영벌에, 의인들은 영생에 들어가리라 하시니라

2. The end of God’s appointing this day, is for the manifestation of the glory of his mercy, in the eternal salvation of the elect; and of his justice, in the eternal damnation of the reprobate, who are wicked and disobedient;⁴ for then shall the righteous go into everlasting life, and receive that fulness of joy and glory with everlasting rewards, in the presence of the Lord; but the wicked, who do not know God, and do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, shall be cast aside into everlasting torments,⁵ and punished with everlasting destruction, from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.⁶

2. 하나님께서 이 날을 정하신 목적은 택하신 자들의 영원한 구원에서 자신의 긍휼의 영광을 나타내시고, 악하고 불순종하는 유기된 자들의 영원한 정죄에서 자신의 공의의 영광을 나타내시려는 것이다.⁴ 그때 의인들은 영생에 들어가 주의 임재 안에서 영원한 상급과 함께 충만한 기쁨과 영광을 받을 것이다. 그러나 하나님을 알지 못하고 예수 그리스도의 복음에 순종하지 않는 악인들은 영원한 고통 가운데 던져져,⁵ 주의 임재와 그분의 능력의 영광에서 떠나 영원한 멸망의 형벌을 받을 것이다.⁶

22 만일 하나님이 그 진노를 보이시고 그 능력을 알게 하고자 하사 멸하기로 준비된 진노의 그릇을 오래 참으심으로 관용하시고

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

23 또한 영광 받기로 예비하신바 긍휼의 그릇에 대하여 그 영광의 부요함을 알게 하고자 하셨을찌라도 무슨 말 하리요

마태복음 25:21, 34

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

21 그 주인이 이르되 잘 하였도다 착하고 충성된 종아 네가 작은 일에 충성하였으매 내가 많은 것으로 네게 맡기리니 네 주인의 즐거움에 참예할찌어다 하고

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

8 이제 후로는 나를 위하여 의의 면류관이 예비되었으므로 주 곧 의로우신 재판장이 그 날에 내게 주실 것이니 내게만 아니라 주의 나타나심을 사모하는 모든 자에게니라

마태복음 25:46

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

46 저희는 영벌에, 의인들은 영생에 들어가리라 하시니라

마가복음 9:48

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

48 거기는 구더기도 죽지 않고 불도 꺼지지 아니하느니라

데살로니가후서 1:7-10

7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

7 환난 받는 너희에게는 우리와 함께 안식으로 갚으시는 것이 하나님의 공의시니 주 예수께서 저의 능력의 천사들과 함께 하늘로부터 불꽃 중에 나타나실 때에

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8 하나님을 모르는 자들과 우리 주 예수의 복음을 복종치 않는 자들에게 형벌을 주시리니

9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

9 이런 자들이 주의 얼굴과 그의 힘의 영광을 떠나 영원한 멸망의 형벌을 받으리로다

10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

10 그 날에 강림하사 그의 성도들에게서 영광을 얻으시고 모든 믿는 자에게서 기이히 여김을 얻으시리라 (우리의 증거가 너희에게 믿어졌음이라)

3. As Christ would have us to be certainly persuaded that there shall be a day of judgment, both to deter all men from sin,⁷ and for the greater consolation of the godly in their adversity,⁸ so will he have the day unknown to men, that they may shake off all carnal security, and be always watchful, because they know not at what hour the Lord will come,⁹ and may ever be prepared to say, Come Lord Jesus; come quickly.¹⁰ Amen.

3. 그리스도는 모든 사람을 죄에서 돌이키고,⁷ 경건한 이들이 역경 가운데 더욱 큰 위로를 얻게 하시려고, 심판의 날이 있다는 것을 우리가 확실히 믿기를 원하신다.⁸ 동시에 그 날을 사람들에게 알리지 않으심으로, 그들이 모든 육적인 안일함을 떨쳐 버리고 주께서 어느 시각에 오실지 알지 못하므로 언제나 깨어 있게 하신다.⁹ 또한 늘 준비하여 “오소서, 주 예수여. 속히 오소서.”라고 말하게 하신다.¹⁰ 아멘.

36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

36 그가 홀연히 와서 너희의 자는 것을 보지 않도록 하라

36 너희는 마치 그 주인이 혼인 집에서 돌아와 문을 두드리면 곧 열어 주려고 기다리는 사람과 같이 되라

37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

37 주인이 와서 깨어 있는 것을 보면 그 종들은 복이 있으리로다 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 주인이 띠를 띠고 그 종들을 자리에 앉히고 나아와 수종하리라

38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

38 주인이 혹 이경에나 혹 삼경에 이르러서도 종들의 이같이 하는 것을 보면 그 종들은 복이 있으리로다

39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

39 너희도 아는바니 집 주인이 만일 도적이 어느 때에 이를줄 알았더면 그 집을 뚫지 못하게 하였으리라

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

40 이러므로 너희도 예비하고 있으라 생각지 않은 때에 인자가 오리라 하시니라

요한계시록 22:20

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
