문답 51 안식일을 어떻게 거룩하게 지켜야 합니까?

How is the Sabbath to be sanctified?

The Sabbath is to be sanctified by a holy resting all that day, even from such worldly employments and recreations as are lawful on other days¹ , and spending the whole time in the public and private exercises of God's worship² , except so much as is taken up in the works of necessity and mercy.³

안식일은 다른 날에는 합당한 세속적인 일과 오락까지도 그날 하루 종일 쉬는 거룩한 안식으로 지켜야 합니다.¹ 또한 온 시간을 공적·사적으로 하나님을 예배하는 데 사용해야 합니다.² 다만 불가피한 일과 자비를 베푸는 일에 쓰이는 시간은 예외입니다.³

3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

시편 92:1-2

1 A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:

1 지존자여 십현금과 비파와 수금의 정숙한 소리로 여호와께 감사하며 주의 이름을 찬양하며 아침에 주의 인자하심을 나타내며 밤마다 주의 성실하심을 베풂이 좋으니이다

2 To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

13 만일 안식일에 네 발을 금하여 내 성일에 오락을 행치 아니하고 안식일을 일컬어 즐거운 날이라, 여호와의 성일을 존귀한 날이라 하여 이를 존귀히 여기고 네 길로 행치 아니하며 네 오락을 구치 아니하며 사사로운 말을 하지 아니하면

14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

14 네가 여호와의 안에서 즐거움을 얻을 것이라 내가 너를 땅의 높은 곳에 올리고 네 조상 야곱의 업으로 기르리라 여호와의 입의 말이니라

마태복음 12:11-12

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

11 예수께서 가라사대 너희 중에 어느 사람이 양 한 마리가 있어 안식일에 구덩이에 빠졌으면 붙잡아 내지 않겠느냐

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
