2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

2 이스라엘 자손 중에 사람이나 짐승이나 무론하고 초태생은 다 거룩히 구별하여 내게 돌리라 이는 내 것이니라 하시니라

12 That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD'S.

12 너는 무릇 초태생과 네게 있는 생축의 초태생을 다 구별하여 여호와께 돌리라 수컷은 여호와의 것이니라

29 Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.

29 너는 너의 추수한 것과 너의 짜낸 즙을 드리기에 더디게 말찌며 너의 처음 난 아들들을 내게 줄찌며

15 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.

15 그 때에 바로가 강퍅하여 우리를 보내지 아니하매 여호와께서 애굽 나라 가운데 처음 낳은 것을 사람의 장자로부터 생축의 처음 낳은 것까지 다 죽이신고로 초태생의 수컷은 다 여호와께 희생으로 드리고 우리 장자는 다 대속하나니

13 Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.

13 처음 난 자는 다 내 것임은 내가 애굽 땅에서 그 처음 난 자를 다 죽이던 날에 이스라엘의 처음 난 자는 사람이나 짐승을 다 거룩히 구별하였음이니 그들은 내 것이 될 것임이니라 나는 여호와니라

17 For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

17 이스라엘 자손 중에 처음 난 것은 사람이든지 짐승이든지 다 내게 속하였음은 내가 애굽 땅에서 그 모든 처음 난 자를 치던 날에 내가 그들을 내게 구별하였음이라

19 All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.

19 너의 우양의 처음 난 수컷은 구별하여 네 하나님 여호와께 드릴 것이니 네 소의 첫 새끼는 부리지 말고 네 양의 첫 새끼의 털은 깎지 말고

19 All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.

19 너의 우양의 처음 난 수컷은 구별하여 네 하나님 여호와께 드릴 것이니 네 소의 첫 새끼는 부리지 말고 네 양의 첫 새끼의 털은 깎지 말고

30 Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.

30 너의 소와 양도 그 일례로 하되 칠일 동안 어미와 함께 있게 하다가 팔일만에 내게 줄찌니라

27 When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

27 수소나 양이나 염소가 나거든 칠일 동안 그 어미와 같이 있게 하라 제 팔일 이후로는 여호와께 화제로 예물을 드리면 열납되리라

17 But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

17 오직 소의 처음 난 것이나 양의 처음 난 것이나 염소의 처음 난 것은 속하지 말찌니 그것들은 거룩한즉 그 피는 단에 뿌리고 그 기름은 불살라 여호와께 향기로운 화제로 드릴 것이며

26 Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD'S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD'S.

26 오직 생축의 첫새끼는 여호와께 돌릴 첫새끼라 우 양을 물론하고 여호와의 것이니 누구든지 그것으로는 구별하여 드리지 못할 것이며

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

4 아벨은 자기도 양의 첫 새끼와 그 기름으로 드렸더니 여호와께서 아벨과 그 제물은 열납하셨으나

18 And the flesh of them shall be thine, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are thine.

18 그 고기는 네게 돌릴찌니 흔든 가슴과 우편 넓적다리 같이 네게 돌릴 것이니라

15 Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.

15 여호와께 드리는 모든 생물의 처음 나는 것은 사람이나 짐승이나 다 네 것이로되 사람의 처음 난 것은 반드시 대속할 것이요 부정한 짐승의 처음 난 것도 대속할 것이며

16 And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.

16 그 사람을 속할 때에는 난지 일개월 이후에 네가 정한대로 성소의 세겔을 따라 은 다섯 세겔로 속하라 한 세겔은 이십 게라니라

13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

13 나귀의 첫새끼는 다 어린 양으로 대속할 것이요 그렇게 아니하려면 그 목을 꺾을 것이며 너의 아들중 모든 장자 된 자는 다 대속할찌니라

20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

20 나귀의 첫 새끼는 어린 양으로 대속할 것이요 그렇게 아니하려면 그 목을 꺾을 것이며 네 아들 중 장자는 다 대속할찌며 빈 손으로 내 얼굴을 보지 말찌니라

12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;

12 보라 내가 이스라엘 자손 중에서 레위인을 택하여 이스라엘 자손 중 모든 첫 태에 처음 난 자를 대신케 하였은즉 레위인은 내 것이라

40 And the LORD said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

40 여호와께서 또 모세에게 이르시되 이스라엘 자손의 처음 난 남자를 일개월 이상으로 다 계수하여 그 명수를 기록하라

41 And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the LORD) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.

41 나는 여호와라 이스라엘 자손 중 모든 처음 난 자의 대신에 레위인을 내게 돌리고 또 이스라엘 자손의 가축 중 모든 처음 난 것의 대신에 레위인의 가축을 내게 돌리라

42 And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

42 모세가 여호와께서 자기에게 명하신대로 이스라엘 자손 중 모든 처음 난 자를 계수하니

43 And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.

43 일개월 이상으로 계수함을 입은 처음 난 남자의 명수의 총계가 이만 이천 이백 칠십 삼명이었더라

18 And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.

18 이러므로 내가 이스라엘 자손 중 모든 처음 난 자의 대신으로 레위인을 취하였느니라

20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

20 나귀의 첫 새끼는 어린 양으로 대속할 것이요 그렇게 아니하려면 그 목을 꺾을 것이며 네 아들 중 장자는 다 대속할찌며 빈 손으로 내 얼굴을 보지 말찌니라

15 Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.

15 여호와께 드리는 모든 생물의 처음 나는 것은 사람이나 짐승이나 다 네 것이로되 사람의 처음 난 것은 반드시 대속할 것이요 부정한 짐승의 처음 난 것도 대속할 것이며

46 And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;

46 이스라엘 자손의 처음 난 자가 레위인보다 이백 칠십 삼인이 더한즉 속하기 위하여

47 Thou shalt even take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them: (the shekel is twenty gerahs:)

47 매명에 오 세겔씩 취하되 성소의 세겔대로 취하라 한 세겔은 이십 게라니라

48 And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.

48 그 더한 자의 속전을 아론과 그 아들들에게 줄 것이니라

49 And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:

49 모세가 레위인으로 대속한 이외의 사람에게서 속전을 받았으니

50 Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

50 곧 이스라엘 자손의 처음 난 자에게서 받은 돈이 성소의 세겔대로 일천 삼백 육십 오 세겔이라

51 And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.

51 이 속전을 여호와의 말씀대로 아론과 그 아들들에게 주었으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명하심과 같았느니라

36 Also the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, unto the priests that minister in the house of our God:

36 또 우리의 맏아들들과 생축의 처음 난 것과 우양의 처음 난 것을 율법에 기록된대로 우리 하나님의 전으로 가져다가 우리 하나님의 전에서 섬기는 제사장들에게 주고

22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

22 모세의 법대로 결례의 날이 차매 아기를 데리고 예루살렘에 올라가니

23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

23 이는 주의 율법에 쓴바 첫 태에 처음 난 남자마다 주의 거룩한 자라 하리라 한대로 아기를 주께 드리고

3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

3 르우벤아 너는 내 장자요 나의 능력이요 나의 기력의 시작이라 위광이 초등하고 권능이 탁월하도다마는

17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

17 반드시 그 미움을 받는 자의 아들을 장자로 인정하여 자기의 소유에서 그에게는 두 몫을 줄 것이니 그는 자기의 기력의 시작이라 장자의 권리가 그에게 있음이니라

7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

7 여호와께서 천천의 수양이나 만만의 강수 같은 기름을 기뻐하실까 내 허물을 위하여 내 맏아들을, 내 영혼의 죄를 인하여 내 몸의 열매를 드릴까

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

10 내가 다윗의 집과 예루살렘 거민에게 은총과 간구하는 심령을 부어 주리니 그들이 그 찌른바 그를 바라보고 그를 위하여 애통하기를 독자를 위하여 애통하듯 하며 그를 위하여 통곡하기를 장자를 위하여 통곡하듯 하리로다

28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

28 이삭은 에서의 사냥한 고기를 좋아하므로 그를 사랑하고 리브가는 야곱을 사랑하였더라

9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

9 울며 올 것이며 그들이 나의 인도함을 입고 간구할 때에 내가 그들로 넘어지지 아니하고 하숫가의 바른 길로 행하게 하리라 나는 이스라엘의 아비요 에브라임은 나의 장자니라

20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

20 에브라임은 나의 사랑하는 아들 기뻐하는 자식이 아니냐 내가 그를 책망하여 말할 때마다 깊이 생각하노라 그러므로 그를 위하여 내 마음이 측은한즉 내가 반드시 그를 긍휼히 여기리라 여호와의 말이니라

13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.

13 우수로는 에브라임을 이스라엘의 좌수를 향하게 하고 좌수로는 므낫세를 이스라엘의 우수를 향하게 하고 이끌어 그에게 가까이 나아가매

14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.

14 이스라엘이 우수를 펴서 차자 에브라임의 머리에 얹고 좌수를 펴서 므낫세의 머리에 얹으니 므낫세는 장자라도 팔을 어긋맞겨 얹었더라

29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

29 만민이 너를 섬기고 열국이 네게 굴복하리니 네가 형제들의 주가 되고 네 어미의 아들들이 네게 굴복하며 네게 저주하는 자는 저주를 받고 네게 축복하는 자는 복을 받기를 원하노라

29 And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the king's table.

29 가로되 청컨대 나로 가게 하라 우리 가족이 그 성에서 제사할 일이 있으므로 나의 형이 내게 오기를 명하였으니 내가 네게 사랑을 받거든 나로 가서 내 형들을 보게 하라 하였으므로 그가 왕의 식사 자리에 오지 아니하였나이다

4 And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.

4 나의 즐기는 별미를 만들어 내게로 가져다가 먹게 하여 나로 죽기 전에 내 마음껏 네게 축복하게 하라

35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtlety, and hath taken away thy blessing.

35 이삭이 가로되 네 아우가 간교하게 와서 네 복을 빼앗았도다

3 And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.

3 그 부친이 저희에게는 은금과 보물과 유다 견고한 성읍들을 선물로 후히 주었고 여호람은 장자인고로 왕위를 주었더니

17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

17 반드시 그 미움을 받는 자의 아들을 장자로 인정하여 자기의 소유에서 그에게는 두 몫을 줄 것이니 그는 자기의 기력의 시작이라 장자의 권리가 그에게 있음이니라

5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.

5 형제가 동거하는데 그 중 하나가 죽고 아들이 없거든 그 죽은 자의 아내는 나가서 타인에게 시집가지 말 것이요 그 남편의 형제가 그에게로 들어가서 그를 취하여 아내를 삼아 그의 남편의 형제 된 의무를 그에게 다 행할 것이요

6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

6 그 여인의 낳은 첫 아들로 그 죽은 형제의 후사를 잇게 하여 그 이름을 이스라엘 중에서 끊어지지 않게 할 것이니라

24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

24 선생님이여 모세가 일렀으되 사람이 만일 자식이 없이 죽으면 그 동생이 그 아내에게 장가들어 형을 위하여 후사를 세울찌니라 하였나이다

25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

25 우리 중에 칠 형제가 있었는데 맏이 장가 들었다가 죽어 후사가 없으므로 그의 아내를 그 동생에게 끼쳐두고

26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

26 그 둘째와 세째로 일곱째까지 그렇게 하다가

27 And last of all the woman died also.

27 최후에 그 여자도 죽었나이다

28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

28 그런즉 저희가 다 그를 취하였으니 부활 때에 일곱 중에 뉘 아내가 되리이까

15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:

15 어떤 사람이 두 아내를 두었는데 하나는 사랑을 받고 하나는 미움을 받다가 그 사랑을 받는 자와 미움을 받는 자가 둘 다 아들을 낳았다 하자 그 미움을 받는 자의 소생이 장자여든

16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:

16 자기의 소유를 그 아들들에게 기업으로 나누는 날에 그 사랑을 받는 자의 아들로 장자를 삼아 참 장자 곧 미움을 받는 자의 아들보다 앞세우지 말고

3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

3 르우벤아 너는 내 장자요 나의 능력이요 나의 기력의 시작이라 위광이 초등하고 권능이 탁월하도다마는

4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

4 물의 끓음 같았은즉 너는 탁월치 못하리니 네가 아비의 침상에 올라 더럽혔음이로다 그가 내 침상에 올랐었도다

8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.

8 유다야 너는 네 형제의 찬송이 될찌라 네 손이 네 원수의 목을 잡을 것이요 네 아비의 아들들이 네 앞에 절하리로다

1 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

1 이스라엘의 장자 르우벤의 아들들은 이러하니라 (르우벤은 장자라도 그 아비의 침상을 더럽게 하였으므로 장자의 명분이 이스라엘의 아들 요셉의 자손에게로 돌아갔으나 족보에는 장자의 명분대로 기록할 것이 아니니라

31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

31 야곱이 가로되 형의 장자의 명분을 오늘날 내게 팔라

33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

33 야곱이 가로되 오늘 내게 맹세하라 에서가 맹세하고 장자의 명분을 야곱에게 판지라

16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

16 음행하는 자와 혹 한 그릇 식물을 위하여 장자의 명분을 판 에서와 같이 망령된 자가 있을까 두려워하라

17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

17 너희의 아는 바와 같이 저가 그 후에 축복을 기업으로 받으려고 눈물을 흘리며 구하되 버린 바가 되어 회개할 기회를 얻지 못하였느니라

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

4 아벨은 자기도 양의 첫 새끼와 그 기름으로 드렸더니 여호와께서 아벨과 그 제물은 열납하셨으나

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

5 가인과 그 제물은 열납하지 아니하신지라 가인이 심히 분하여 안색이 변하니

21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

21 셈은 에벨 온 자손의 조상이요 야벳의 형이라 그에게도 자녀가 출생하였으니

19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

19 하나님이 가라사대 아니라 네 아내 사라가 정녕 네게 아들을 낳으리니 너는 그 이름을 이삭이라 하라 내가 그와 내 언약을 세우리니 그의 후손에게 영원한 언약이 되리라

20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

20 이스마엘에게 이르러는 내가 네 말을 들었나니 내가 그에게 복을 주어 생육이 중다하여 그로 크게 번성케 할찌라 그가 열 두 방백을 낳으리니 내가 그로 큰 나라가 되게 하려니와

21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

21 내 언약은 내가 명년 이 기한에 사라가 네게 낳을 이삭과 세우리라

23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

23 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 두 국민이 네 태중에 있구나 두 민족이 네 복중에서부터 나누이리라 이 족속이 저 족속보다 강하겠고 큰 자는 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨더라

12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

12 리브가에게 이르시되 큰 자가 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨나니

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

13 기록된바 내가 야곱은 사랑하고 에서는 미워하였다 하심과 같으니라

15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,

15 그가 요셉을 위하여 축복하여 가로되 내 조부 아브라함과 아버지 이삭의 섬기던 하나님, 나의 남으로부터 지금까지 나를 기르신 하나님,

16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

16 나를 모든 환난에서 건지신 사자께서 이 아이에게 복을 주시오며 이들로 내 이름과 내 조부 아브라함과 아버지 이삭의 이름으로 칭하게 하시오며 이들로 세상에서 번식되게 하시기를 원하나이다

17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.

17 요셉이 그 아비가 우수를 에브라임의 머리에 얹은 것을 보고 기뻐 아니하여 아비의 손을 들어 에브라임의 머리에서 므낫세의 머리로 옮기고자 하여

18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.

18 그 아비에게 이르되 아버지여 그리 마옵소서 이는 장자니 우수를 그 머리에 얹으소서

19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

19 아비가 허락지 아니하여 가로되 나도 안다 내 아들아 나도 안다 그도 한 족속이 되며 그도 크게 되려니와 그 아우가 그보다 큰 자가 되고 그 자손이 여러 민족을 이루리라 하고

20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

20 그 날에 그들에게 축복하여 가로되 이스라엘 족속이 너로 축복하기를 하나님이 너로 에브라임 같고 므낫세 같게 하시리라 하리라 하여 에브라임을 므낫세보다 앞세웠더라

1 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

1 이스라엘의 장자 르우벤의 아들들은 이러하니라 (르우벤은 장자라도 그 아비의 침상을 더럽게 하였으므로 장자의 명분이 이스라엘의 아들 요셉의 자손에게로 돌아갔으나 족보에는 장자의 명분대로 기록할 것이 아니니라

2 For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)

2 유다는 형제보다 뛰어나고 주권자가 유다로 말미암아 났을찌라도 장자의 명분은 요셉에게 있으니라)

1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 볼찌어다 내가 너로 바로에게 신이 되게 하였은즉 네 형 아론은 네 대언자가 되리니

2 Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

2 내가 네게 명한 바를 너는 네 형 아론에게 말하고 그는 바로에게 말하여 그로 이스라엘 자손을 그 땅에서 보내게 할찌니라

2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.

2 그들이 이르되 여호와께서 모세와만 말씀하셨느냐 우리와도 말씀하지 아니하셨느냐 하매 여호와께서 이 말을 들으셨더라

8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

8 그와는 내가 대면하여 명백히 말하고 은밀한 말로 아니하며 그는 또 여호와의 형상을 보겠거늘 너희가 어찌하여 내 종 모세 비방하기를 두려워 아니하느냐

6 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord's anointed is before him.

6 그들이 오매 사무엘이 엘리압을 보고 마음에 이르기를 여호와의 기름 부으실 자가 과연 그 앞에 있도다 하였더니

7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

7 여호와께서 사무엘에게 이르시되 그 용모와 신장을 보지 말라 내가 이미 그를 버렸노라 나의 보는 것은 사람과 같지 아니하니 사람은 외모를 보거니와 나 여호와는 중심을 보느니라

8 Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.

8 이새가 아비나답을 불러 사무엘의 앞을 지나게 하매 사무엘이 가로되 이도 여호와께서 택하지 아니하셨느니라

9 Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.

9 이새가 삼마로 지나게 하매 사무엘이 가로되 이도 여호와께서 택하지 아니하셨느니라

10 Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.

10 이새가 그 아들 일곱으로 다 사무엘 앞을 지나게 하나 사무엘이 이새에게 이르되 여호와께서 이들을 택하지 아니하셨느니라 하고

11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.

11 또 이새에게 이르되 네 아들들이 다 여기 있느냐 이새가 가로되 아직 말째가 남았는데 그가 양을 지키나이다 사무엘이 이새에게 이르되 보내어 그를 데려오라 그가 여기 오기까지는 우리가 식사 자리에 앉지 아니하겠노라

12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

12 이에 보내어 그를 데려오매 그의 빛이 붉고 눈이 빼어나고 얼굴이 아름답더라 여호와께서 가라사대 이가 그니 일어나 기름을 부으라

15 And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.

15 저가 가로되 당신도 아시는바여니와 이 왕위는 내 것이었고 온 이스라엘은 다 얼굴을 내게로 향하여 왕을 삼으려 하였는데 그 왕위가 돌이켜 내 아우의 것이 되었음은 여호와께로 말미암음이니이다

22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

22 솔로몬왕이 그 모친에게 대답하여 가로되 어찌하여 아도니야를 위하여 수넴 여자 아비삭을 구하시나이까 저는 나의 형이오니 저를 위하여 왕위도 구하옵소서 저뿐 아니라 제사장 아비아달과 스루야의 아들 요압도 위하여 구하옵소서 하고

27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

27 내가 또 저로 장자를 삼고 세계 열왕의 으뜸이 되게 하며

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

29 하나님이 미리 아신 자들로 또한 그 아들의 형상을 본받게 하기 위하여 미리 정하셨으니 이는 그로 많은 형제 중에서 맏아들이 되게 하려 하심이니라

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

18 그는 몸인 교회의 머리라 그가 근본이요 죽은 자들 가운데서 먼저 나신 자니 이는 친히 만물의 으뜸이 되려 하심이요

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
