11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;

1 화 있을찐저 피 성이여 그 속에서는 궤휼과 강포가 가득하며 늑탈이 떠나지 아니하는도다

2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

2 너는 일어나 저 큰 성읍 니느웨로 가서 그것을 쳐서 외치라 그 악독이 내 앞에 상달하였음이니라 하시니라

2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

2 일어나 저 큰 성읍 니느웨로 가서 내가 네게 명한 바를 그들에게 선포하라 하신지라

3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.

3 요나가 여호와의 말씀대로 일어나서 니느웨로 가니라 니느웨는 극히 큰 성읍이므로 삼일길이라

9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

9 은을 노략하라 금을 늑탈하라 그 저축한 것이 무한하고 아름다운 기구가 풍부함이니라

12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.

12 너의 모든 산성은 무화과나무의 처음 익은 열매가 흔들기만 하면 먹는 자의 입에 떨어짐과 같으리라

16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and fleeth away.

16 네가 네 상고를 하늘의 별보다 많게 하였으나 황충이 날개를 펴서 날아감과 같고

11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

11 하물며 이 큰 성읍, 니느웨에는 좌우를 분변치 못하는 자가 십 이만 여명이요 육축도 많이 있나니 내가 아끼는 것이 어찌 합당치 아니하냐

14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.

14 나 여호와가 네게 대하여 명하였나니 네 이름이 다시는 전파되지 않을 것이라 내가 네 신들의 집에서 새긴 우상과 부은 우상을 멸절하며 네 무덤을 예비하리니 이는 네가 비루함이니라

14 나 여호와가 네게 대하여 명하였나니 네 이름이 다시는 전파되지 않을 것이라 내가 네 신들의 집에서 새긴 우상과 부은 우상을 멸절하며 네 무덤을 예비하리니 이는 네가 비루함이니라

15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

15 이는 기쁜 성이라 염려 없이 거하며 심중에 이르기를 오직 나만 있고 나 외에는 다른이가 없다 하더니 어찌 이같이 황무하여 들짐승의 엎드릴 곳이 되었는고 지나가는 자마다 치소하여 손을 흔들리로다

4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

4 이는 마술의 주인된 아리따운 기생이 음행을 많이 함을 인함이라 그가 그 음행으로 열국을 미혹하고 그 마술로 여러 족속을 미혹하느니라

2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

2 너는 일어나 저 큰 성읍 니느웨로 가서 그것을 쳐서 외치라 그 악독이 내 앞에 상달하였음이니라 하시니라

1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

1 여호와의 말씀이 두번째 요나에게 임하니라 이르시되

2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

2 일어나 저 큰 성읍 니느웨로 가서 내가 네게 명한 바를 그들에게 선포하라 하신지라

4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

4 요나가 그 성에 들어가며 곧 하룻길을 행하며 외쳐 가로되 사십일이 지나면 니느웨가 무너지리라 하였더니

5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

5 니느웨 백성이 하나님을 믿고 금식을 선포하고 무론 대소하고 굵은 베를 입은지라

6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

6 그 소문이 니느웨 왕에게 들리매 왕이 보좌에서 일어나 조복을 벗고 굵은 베를 입고 재에 앉으니라

7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

7 왕이 그 대신으로 더불어 조서를 내려 니느웨에 선포하여 가로되 사람이나 짐승이나 소떼나 양떼나 아무 것도 입에 대지 말찌니 곧 먹지도 말 것이요 물도 마시지 말 것이며

8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

8 사람이든지 짐승이든지 다 굵은 베를 입을 것이요 힘써 여호와께 부르짖을 것이며 각기 악한 길과 손으로 행한 강포에서 떠날 것이라

9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

9 하나님이 혹시 뜻을 돌이키시고 그 진노를 그치사 우리로 멸망치 않게 하시리라 그렇지 않을줄을 누가 알겠느냐 한지라

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

41 심판 때에 니느웨 사람들이 일어나 이 세대 사람을 정죄하리니 이는 그들이 요나의 전도를 듣고 회개하였음이어니와 요나보다 더 큰이가 여기 있으며

32 The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

32 심판 때에 니느웨 사람들이 일어나 이 세대 사람을 정죄하리니 이는 그들이 요나의 전도를 듣고 회개하였음이어니와 요나보다 더 큰이가 여기 있느니라

10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

10 예수께서 가라사대 너는 이스라엘의 선생으로서 이러한 일을 알지 못하느냐

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

11 여자가 가로되 주여 물 길을 그릇도 없고 이 우물은 깊은데 어디서 이 생수를 얻겠삽나이까

1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.

1 파괴하는 자가 너를 치러 올라왔나니 너는 산성을 지키며 길을 파수하며 네 허리를 견고히 묶고 네 힘을 크게 굳게 할찌어다

2 For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.

2 여호와께서 야곱의 영광을 회복하시되 이스라엘의 영광 같게 하시나니 이는 약탈자들이 약탈하였고 또 그 포도나무 가지를 없이 하였음이라

3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

3 그의 용사들의 방패는 붉고 그의 무사들의 옷도 붉으며 그 항오를 벌이는 날에 병거의 철이 번쩍이고 노송나무 창이 요동하는도다

4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

4 그 병거는 거리에 미치게 달리며 대로에서 이리 저리 빨리 가니 그 모양이 횃불 같고 빠르기 번개 같도다

2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the prancing horses, and of the jumping chariots.

2 휙휙하는 채찍 소리, 굉굉하는 병거바퀴 소리, 뛰는 말, 달리는 병거,

12 Thus saith the LORD; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.

12 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 그들이 비록 강장하고 중다할찌라도 반드시 멸절을 당하리니 그가 없어지리라 내가 전에는 너를 괴롭게 하였으나 다시는 너를 괴롭게 하지 아니할 것이라

3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

3 충돌하는 기병, 번쩍이는 칼, 번개 같은 창, 살륙 당한 떼, 큰 무더기 주검, 무수한 시체여 사람이 그 시체에 걸려 넘어지니

7 And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.

7 정명대로 왕후가 벌거벗은 몸으로 끌려가며 그 모든 시녀가 가슴을 치며 비둘기 같이 슬피 우는도다

5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will show the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

5 만군의 여호와의 말씀에 내가 네 대적이 되어서 네 치마를 걷어쳐 네 얼굴에 이르게 하고 네 벌거벗은 것을 열국에 보이며 네 부끄러운 곳을 열방에 보일 것이요

6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

6 내가 또 가증하고 더러운 것을 네 위에 던져 능욕하여 너로 구경거리가 되게 하리니

7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

7 그 때에 너를 보는 자가 다 네게서 도망하며 이르기를 니느웨가 황무하였도다 누가 위하여 애곡하며 내가 어디서 너를 위로할 자를 구하리요 하리라 하시도다

15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

15 이는 기쁜 성이라 염려 없이 거하며 심중에 이르기를 오직 나만 있고 나 외에는 다른이가 없다 하더니 어찌 이같이 황무하여 들짐승의 엎드릴 곳이 되었는고 지나가는 자마다 치소하여 손을 흔들리로다

8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

8 그가 범람한 물로 그곳을 진멸하시고 자기 대적들을 흑암으로 쫓아내시리라

9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

9 너희가 여호와를 대하여 무엇을 꾀하느냐 그가 온전히 멸하시리니 재난이 다시 일어나지 아니하리라

13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

13 여호와가 북방을 향하여 손을 펴서 앗수르를 멸하며 니느웨로 황무케 하여 사막 같이 메마르게 하리니

14 And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.

14 각양 짐승이 그 가운데 떼로 누울 것이며 당아와 고슴도치가 그 기둥 꼭대기에 깃들일 것이며 창에서 울 것이며 문턱이 적막하리니 백향목으로 지은 것이 벗겨졌음이라

15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

15 이는 기쁜 성이라 염려 없이 거하며 심중에 이르기를 오직 나만 있고 나 외에는 다른이가 없다 하더니 어찌 이같이 황무하여 들짐승의 엎드릴 곳이 되었는고 지나가는 자마다 치소하여 손을 흔들리로다

13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

13 너의 중 장정들은 여인 같고 너의 땅의 성문들은 너의 대적 앞에 넓게 열리고 빗장들은 불에 타도다

10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

10 가시덤불 같이 엉크러졌고 술을 마신 것 같이 취한 그들이 마른 지푸라기 같이 다 탈 것이어늘

11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.

11 너도 취한바 되어 숨으리라 너도 대적을 인하여 피난처를 찾아보리라

10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

10 그가 포로가 되어 사로잡혀 갔고 그 어린 아이들은 길 모퉁이 모퉁이에 메어침을 당하여 부서졌으며 그 존귀한 자들은 제비 뽑혀 나뉘었고 그 모든 대인은 사슬에 결박되었나니
