16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

16 사람들은 자기보다 더 큰 자를 가리켜 맹세하나니 맹세는 저희 모든 다투는 일에 최후 확정이니라

22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

22 아브람이 소돔왕에게 이르되 천지의 주재시요 지극히 높으신 하나님 여호와께 내가 손을 들어 맹세하노니

3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

3 내가 너로 하늘의 하나님, 땅의 하나님이신 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하게 하노니 너는 나의 거하는 이 지방 가나안 족속의 딸 중에서 내 아들을 위하여 아내를 택하지 말고

8 And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.

8 만일 여자가 너를 좇아 오고자 아니하면 나의 이 맹세가 너와 상관이 없나니 오직 내 아들을 데리고 그리로 가지 말찌니라

28 And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

28 그들이 가로되 여호와께서 너와 함께 계심을 우리가 분명히 보았으므로 우리의 사이 곧 우리와 너의 사이에 맹세를 세워 너와 계약을 맺으리라 말하였노라

44 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

44 이제 오라 너와 내가 언약을 세워 그것으로 너와 나 사이에 증거를 삼을 것이니라

53 The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.

53 아브라함의 하나님, 나홀의 하나님, 그들의 조상의 하나님은 우리 사이에 판단하옵소서 하매 야곱이 그 아비 이삭의 경외하는 이를 가리켜 맹세하고

16 So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the LORD even require it at the hand of David's enemies.

16 이에 요나단이 다윗의 집과 언약하기를 여호와께서는 다윗의 대적들을 치실찌어다 하니라

17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

17 요나단이 다윗을 사랑하므로 그로 다시 맹세케 하였으니 이는 자기 생명을 사랑함 같이 그를 사랑함이었더라

11 Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.

11 두 사람 사이에 맡은 자가 이웃의 것에 손을 대지 아니하였다고 여호와로 맹세할 것이요 그 임자는 그대로 믿을 것이며 그 사람은 배상하지 아니하려니와

19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:

19 여인에게 맹세시켜 그에게 이르기를 네가 네 남편을 두고 실행하여 사람과 동침하여 더럽힌 일이 없으면 저주가 되게 하는 이 쓴 물의 해독을 면하리라

31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:

31 만일 어떤 사람이 그 이웃에게 범죄함으로 맹세시킴을 받고 저가 와서 이 전에 있는 주의 단 앞에서 맹세하거든

4 And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and showed them the king's son.

4 제 칠년에 여호야다가 보내어 가리 사람의 백부장들과 호위병의 백부장들을 불러 데리고 여호와의 전으로 들어가서 저희와 언약을 세우고 저희로 여호와의 전에서 맹세케 한 후에 왕자를 보이고

2 I counsel thee to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.

2 내가 권하노니 왕의 명령을 지키라 이미 하나님을 가리켜 맹세하였음이니라

2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

2 사람이 여호와께 서원하였거나 마음을 제어하기로 서약하였거든 파약하지 말고 그 입에서 나온대로 다 행할 것이니라

14 And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

14 무리가 큰 소리로 부르며 피리와 나팔을 불어 여호와께 맹세하매

15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.

15 온 유다가 이 맹세를 기뻐한지라 무리가 마음을 다하여 맹세하고 뜻을 다하여 여호와를 찾았으므로 여호와께서도 저희의 만난바가 되시고 그 사방에 평안을 주셨더라

29 They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;

29 다 그 형제 귀인들을 좇아 저주로 맹세하기를 우리가 하나님의 종 모세로 주신 하나님의 율법을 좇아 우리 주 여호와의 모든 계명과 규례와 율례를 지켜

2 How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;

2 저가 여호와께 맹세하며 야곱의 전능자에게 서원하기를

3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

3 내가 너로 하늘의 하나님, 땅의 하나님이신 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하게 하노니 너는 나의 거하는 이 지방 가나안 족속의 딸 중에서 내 아들을 위하여 아내를 택하지 말고

4 But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

4 내 고향 내 족속에게로 가서 내 아들 이삭을 위하여 아내를 택하라

25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.

25 요셉이 또 이스라엘 자손에게 맹세시켜 이르기를 하나님이 정녕 너희를 권고하시리니 너희는 여기서 내 해골을 메고 올라가겠다 하라 하였더라

12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have showed you kindness, that ye will also show kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:

12 그러므로 청하노니 내가 너희를 선대하였은즉 너희도 내 아버지의 집을 선대하여 나의 부모와 남녀 형제와 무릇 그들에게 있는 모든 자를 살려주어 우리 생명을 죽는데서 건져내기로 이제 여호와로 맹세하고 내게 진실한 표를 내라

16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?

16 왕이 저에게 이르되 내가 몇 번이나 너로 맹세케 하여야 네가 여호와의 이름으로 진실한 것으로만 내게 고하겠느냐

63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

63 예수께서 잠잠하시거늘 대제사장이 가로되 내가 너로 살아 계신 하나님께 맹세하게 하노니 네가 하나님의 아들 그리스도인지 우리에게 말하라

22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

22 아브람이 소돔왕에게 이르되 천지의 주재시요 지극히 높으신 하나님 여호와께 내가 손을 들어 맹세하노니

7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

7 내가 들은즉 그 세마포 옷을 입고 강물 위에 있는 자가 그 좌우 손을 들어 하늘을 향하여 영생하시는 자를 가리켜 맹세하여 가로되 반드시 한때 두때 반때를 지나서 성도의 권세가 다 깨어지기까지니 그렇게 되면 이 모든 일이 다 끝나리라 하더라

5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

5 내가 본바 바다와 땅을 밟고 섰는 천사가 하늘을 향하여 오른손을 들고

6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

6 세세토록 살아계신 자 곧 하늘과 그 가운데 있는 물건이며 땅과 그 가운데 있는 물건이며 바다와 그 가운데 있는 물건을 창조하신 이를 가리켜 맹세하여 가로되 지체하지 아니하리니

2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:

2 아브라함이 자기 집 모든 소유를 맡은 늙은 종에게 이르되 청컨대 네 손을 내 환도뼈 밑에 넣으라

9 And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.

9 종이 이에 주인 아브라함의 환도뼈 아래 손을 넣고 이 일에 대하여 그에게 맹세하였더라

29 And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt:

29 이스라엘의 죽을 기한이 가까우매 그가 그 아들 요셉을 불러 그에게 이르되 이제 내가 네게 은혜를 입었거든 청하노니 네 손을 내 환도뼈 아래 넣어서 나를 인애와 성심으로 대접하여 애굽에 장사하지 않기를 맹세하고

2 All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

2 모든 사람에게 임하는 모든 것이 일반이라 의인과 악인이며 선하고 깨끗한 자와 깨끗지 않은 자며 제사를 드리는 자와 제사를 드리지 아니하는 자의 결국이 일반이니 선인과 죄인이며 맹세하는 자와 맹세하기를 무서워 하는 자가 일반이로다

7 That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:

7 너희 중에 남아 있는 이 나라들 중에 가지 말라 그 신들의 이름을 부르지 말라 그것을 가리켜 맹세하지 말라 또 그것을 섬겨서 그것에게 절하지 말라

34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

34 나는 너희에게 이르노니 도무지 맹세하지 말찌니 하늘로도 말라 이는 하나님의 보좌임이요

35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

35 땅으로도 말라 이는 하나님의 발등상임이요 예루살렘으로도 말라 이는 큰 임금의 성임이요

36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

36 네 머리로도 말라 이는 네가 한 터럭도 희고 검게 할 수 없음이라

12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

12 내 형제들아 무엇보다도 맹세하지 말찌니 하늘로나 땅으로나 아무 다른 것으로도 맹세하지 말고 오직 너희의 그렇다 하는 것은 그렇다 하고 아니라 하는 것은 아니라 하여 죄 정함을 면하라

3 Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:

3 남의 잃은 물건을 얻고도 사실을 부인하여 거짓 맹세하는 등 사람이 이 모든 일 중에 하나라도 행하여 범죄하면

17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

17 심중에 서로 해하기를 도모하지 말며 거짓 맹세를 좋아하지 말라 이 모든 일은 나의 미워하는 것임이니라 나 여호와의 말이니라

4 Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.

4 혹 누구든지 무심중에 입으로 맹세를 발하여 악을 하리라 하든지 선을 하리라 하면 그 사람의 무심중에 맹세를 발하여 말한 것이 어떠한 일이든지 깨닫지 못하다가 그것을 깨달을 때에는 그 중 하나에 허물이 있을 것이니

13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

13 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하며 섬기며 그 이름으로 맹세할 것이니라

20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

20 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 그를 섬기며 그에게 친근히 하고 그 이름으로 맹세하라

16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

16 이러므로 땅에서 자기를 위하여 복을 구하는 자는 진리의 하나님을 향하여 복을 구할 것이요 땅에서 맹세하는 자는 진리의 하나님으로 맹세하리니 이는 이전 환난이 잊어졌고 내 눈앞에 숨겨졌음이니라

2 And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

2 진실과 공평과 정의로 여호와의 삶을 가리켜 맹세하면 열방이 나로 인하여 스스로 복을 빌며 나로 인하여 자랑하리라

19 But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.

19 모든 족장이 온 회중에게 이르되 우리가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와로 그들에게 맹세하였은즉 이제 그들을 건드리지 못하리라

20 This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.

20 우리가 그들에게 맹세한 맹약을 인하여 진노가 우리에게 임할까 하노니 이렇게 행하여 그들을 살리리라 하고

7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD'S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

7 그러나 다윗과 사울의 아들 요나단 사이에 서로 여호와를 가리켜 맹세한 것이 있으므로 왕이 사울의 손자 요나단의 아들 므비보셋은 아끼고

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

4 그 눈은 망령된 자를 멸시하며 여호와를 두려워하는 자를 존대하며 그 마음에 서원한 것은 해로울찌라도 변치 아니하며

9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

9 왕이 근심하나 자기의 맹세한 것과 그 함께 앉은 사람들을 인하여 주라 명하고

16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

16 화 있을찐저 소경된 인도자여 너희가 말하되 누구든지 성전으로 맹세하면 아무 일 없거니와 성전의 금으로 맹세하면 지킬찌라 하는도다

17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

17 우맹이요 소경들이여 어느 것이 크뇨 그 금이냐 금을 거룩하게 하는 성전이냐

18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

18 너희가 또 이르되 누구든지 제단으로 맹세하면 아무 일 없거니와 그 위에 있는 예물로 맹세하면 지킬찌라 하는도다

19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

19 소경들이여 어느 것이 크뇨 그 예물이냐 예물을 거룩하게 하는 제단이냐

20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

20 그러므로 제단으로 맹세하는 자는 제단과 그 위에 있는 모든 것으로 맹세함이요

21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

21 또 성전으로 맹세하는 자는 성전과 그 안에 계신 이로 맹세함이요

22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

22 또 하늘로 맹세하는 자는 하나님의 보좌와 그 위에 앉으신 이로 맹세함이니라

7 How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn by the LORD that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?

7 그 남은 자들에게 우리가 어떻게 하면 아내를 얻게 하리요 우리가 전에 여호와로 맹세하여 우리 딸을 그들의 아내로 주지 아니하리라 하였도다

7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

7 헤롯이 맹세로 그에게 무엇이든지 달라는대로 주겠다 허락하거늘

72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

72 베드로가 맹세하고 또 부인하여 가로되 내가 그 사람을 알지 못하노라 하더라

3 Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:

3 남의 잃은 물건을 얻고도 사실을 부인하여 거짓 맹세하는 등 사람이 이 모든 일 중에 하나라도 행하여 범죄하면

2 And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.

2 그들이 여호와의 사심으로 맹세할찌라도 실상은 거짓 맹세니라

9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;

9 너희가 도적질하며 살인하며 간음하며 거짓맹세하며 바알에게 분향하며 너희의 알지 못하는 다른 신들을 좇으면서

4 I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

4 만군의 여호와께서 가라사대 내가 이것을 발하였나니 도적의 집에도 들어가며 내 이름을 가리켜 망령되이 맹세하는 자의 집에도 들어가서 그 집에 머무르며 그 집을 그 나무와 그 돌을 아울러 사르리라 하셨느니라

5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

5 내가 심판하러 너희에게 임할 것이라 술수하는 자에게와 간음하는 자에게와 거짓 맹세하는 자에게와 품군의 삯에 대하여 억울케 하며 과부와 고아를 압제하며 나그네를 억울케 하며 나를 경외치 아니하는 자들에게 속히 증거하리라 만군의 여호와가 말하였느니라

10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.

10 이 땅에 행음하는 자가 가득하도다 저주로 인하여 땅이 슬퍼하며 광야의 초장들이 마르나니 그들의 행위가 악하고 힘쓰는 것이 정직하지 못함이로다

2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

2 오직 저주와 사위와 살인과 투절과 간음 뿐이요 강포하여 피가 피를 뒤대임이라

15 And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

15 여호수아가 곧 그들과 화친하여 그들을 살리리라는 언약을 맺고 회중 족장들이 그들에게 맹세하였더라

16 And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them.

16 그들과 언약을 맺은 후 삼일이 지나서야 그들은 근린에 있어 자기들 중에 거주하는 자라 함을 들으니라

30 And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands,

30 그가 여호와께 서원하여 가로되 주께서 과연 암몬 자손을 내 손에 붙이시면

31 Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD'S, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.

31 내가 암몬 자손에게서 평안히 돌아올 때에 누구든지 내 집 문에서 나와서 나를 영접하는 그는 여호와께 돌릴 것이니 내가 그를 번제로 드리겠나이다 하니라

32 So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands.

32 이에 입다가 암몬 자손에게 이르러 그들과 싸우더니 여호와께서 그들을 그 손에 붙이시매

33 And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.

33 아로엘에서부터 민닛에 이르기까지 이십 성읍을 치고 또 아벨 그라밈까지 크게 도륙하니 이에 암몬 자손이 이스라엘 자손 앞에 항복하였더라

34 And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.

34 입다가 미스바에 돌아와 자기 집에 이를 때에 그 딸이 소고를 잡고 춤추며 나와서 영접하니 이는 그의 무남독녀라

35 And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.

35 입다가 이를 보고 자기 옷을 찢으며 가로되 슬프다 내 딸이여 너는 나로 참담케 하는 자요 너는 나를 괴롭게 하는 자 중의 하나이로다 내가 여호와를 향하여 입을 열었으니 능히 돌이키지 못하리로다

36 And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon.

36 딸이 그에게 이르되 나의 아버지여 아버지께서 여호와를 향하여 입을 여셨으니 아버지 입에서 낸 말씀대로 내게 행하소서 이는 여호와께서 아버지를 위하여 아버지의 대적 암몬 자손에게 원수를 갚으셨음이니이다

27 But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

27 요나단은 그 아비가 맹세로 백성에게 명할 때에 듣지 못하였으므로 손에 가진 지팡이 끝을 내밀어 꿀을 찍고 그 손을 돌이켜 입에 대매 눈이 밝아졌더라

44 And Saul answered, God do so and more also: for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.

44 사울이 가로되 요나단아 네가 반드시 죽으리라 그렇지 않으면 하나님이 내게 벌을 내리시고 또 내리시기를 원하노라

7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

7 헤롯이 맹세로 그에게 무엇이든지 달라는대로 주겠다 허락하거늘

8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.

8 그가 제 어미의 시킴을 듣고 가로되 세례 요한의 머리를 소반에 담아 여기서 내게 주소서 하니

9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

9 왕이 근심하나 자기의 맹세한 것과 그 함께 앉은 사람들을 인하여 주라 명하고

21 But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

21 당신은 저희 청함을 좇지 마옵소서 저희 중에서 바울을 죽이기 전에는 먹지도 않고 마시지도 않기로 맹세한 자 사십 여명이 그를 죽이려고 숨어서 지금 다 준비하고 당신의 허락만 기다리나이다 하매

15 Hereby ye shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither.

15 너희는 이같이 하여 너희 진실함을 증명할 것이라 바로의 생명으로 맹세하노니 너희 말째 아우가 여기 오지 아니하면 너희가 여기서 나가지 못하리라

16 Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies.

16 너희 중 하나를 보내어 너희 아우를 데려오게 하고 너희는 갇히어 있으라 내가 너희의 말을 시험하여 너희 중에 진실이 있는지 보리라 바로의 생명으로 맹세하노니 그리하지 아니하면 너희는 과연 정탐이니라 하고

53 The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.

53 아브라함의 하나님, 나홀의 하나님, 그들의 조상의 하나님은 우리 사이에 판단하옵소서 하매 야곱이 그 아비 이삭의 경외하는 이를 가리켜 맹세하고

19 And he said, They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you.

19 가로되 그들은 내 형제, 내 어머니의 아들이니라 내가 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하노니 너희가 만일 그들을 살렸더면 나도 너희를 죽이지 아니하였으리라 하고

13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.

13 이 밤에 여기서 머무르라 아침에 그가 기업 무를 자의 책임을 네게 이행하려 하면 좋으니 그가 그 기업 무를 자의 책임을 행할 것이니라 만일 그가 기업 무를 자의 책임을 네게 이행코자 아니하면 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하노니 내가 기업 무를 자의 책임을 네게 행하리라 아침까지 누울찌니라

17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

17 어머니께서 죽으시는 곳에서 나도 죽어 거기 장사될 것이라 만일 내가 죽는 일 외에 어머니와 떠나면 여호와께서 내게 벌을 내리시고 더 내리시기를 원하나이다

17 And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

17 가로되 네게 무엇을 말씀하셨느냐 청하노니 내게 숨기지 말라 네게 말씀하신 모든 것을 하나라도 숨기면 하나님이 네게 벌을 내리시고 또 내리시기를 원하노라

7 Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.

7 이제 곧 일어나 나가서 왕의 신복들의 마음을 위로하여 말씀하옵소서 내가 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하옵나니 왕이 만일 나가지 아니하시면 오늘 밤에 한 사람도 왕과 함께 머물지 아니할찌라 그리하면 그 화가 왕이 젊었을 때부터 지금까지 당하신 모든 화보다 더욱 심하리이다

42 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.

42 왕이 사람을 보내어 시므이를 불러서 이르되 내가 너로 여호와를 가리켜 맹세하게 하고 경계하여 이르기를 너는 분명히 알라 네가 밖으로 나가서 어디든지 가는 날에는 죽임을 당하리라 하지 아니하였느냐 너도 내게 말하기를 내가 들은 말씀이 좋으니이다 하였거늘

17 And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

17 가로되 네게 무엇을 말씀하셨느냐 청하노니 내게 숨기지 말라 네게 말씀하신 모든 것을 하나라도 숨기면 하나님이 네게 벌을 내리시고 또 내리시기를 원하노라

20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

20 보라 내가 너희에게 쓰는 것은 하나님 앞에서 거짓말이 아니로라

23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.

23 내가 내 영혼을 두고 하나님을 불러 증거하시게 하노니 다시 고린도에 가지 아니한 것은 너희를 아끼려 함이라

5 For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness:

5 너희도 알거니와 우리가 아무 때에도 아첨의 말이나 탐심의 탈을 쓰지 아니한 것을 하나님이 증거하시느니라

27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

27 내가 주를 힘입어 너희를 명하노니 모든 형제에게 이 편지를 읽어 들리라

26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.

26 한나가 가로되 나의 주여 당신의 사심으로 맹세하나이다 나는 여기서 나의 주 당신 곁에 서서 여호와께 기도하던 여자라

26 Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing the LORD hath withholden thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

26 내 주여 여호와께서 사시고 내 주도 살아계시거니와 내 주의 손으로 피를 흘려 친히 보수하시는 일을 여호와께서 막으셨으니 내 주의 원수들과 내 주를 해하려 하는 자들은 나발과 같이 되기를 원하나이다

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

16 가라사대 여호와께서 이르시기를 내가 나를 가리켜 맹세하노니 네가 이같이 행하여 네 아들 네 독자를 아끼지 아니하였은즉

28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

28 그들에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 나의 삶을 가리켜 맹세하노라 너희 말이 내 귀에 들린대로 내가 너희에게 행하리니

17 And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering.

17 화목 제물로 수양에 무교병 한 광주리를 아울러 여호와께 드리고 그 소제와 전제를 드릴 것이요
