5 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

5 제 십사년에 그돌라오멜과 그와 동맹한 왕들이 나와서 아스드롯 가르나임에서 르바 족속을, 함에서 수스 족속을, 사웨 기랴다임에서 엠 족속을 치고

15 And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.

15 여호수아가 그들에게 이르되 네가 큰 민족이 되므로 에브라임 산지가 네게 너무 좁을찐대 브리스 사람과 르바임 사람의 땅 삼림에 올라가서 스스로 개척하라

12 All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.

12 곧 르바의 남은 족속으로서 아스다롯과 에드레이에 도읍하였던 바산 왕 옥의 온 나라라 모세가 이 땅의 사람들을 쳐서 쫓아내었어도

8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

8 또 힌놈의 아들의 골짜기로 올라가서 여부스 곧 예루살렘 남편 어깨에 이르며 또 힌놈의 골짜기 앞 서편에 있는 산 꼭대기로 올라가나니 이곳은 르바임 골짜기 북편 끝이며

5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.

5 마치 추수하는 자가 곡식을 거두어 가지고 그 손으로 이삭을 벤 것 같고 르바임 골짜기에서 이삭을 주운 것 같으리라

18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

18 블레셋 사람이 이미 이르러 르바임 골짜기에 편만한지라

25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

25 이에 다윗이 여호와의 명대로 행하여 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 게바에서 게셀까지 이르니라

4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

4 블레셋 사람의 진에서 싸움을 돋우는 자가 왔는데 그 이름은 골리앗이요 가드 사람이라 그 신장은 여섯 규빗 한 뼘이요

49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.

49 손을 주머니에 넣어 돌을 취하여 물매로 던져 블레셋 사람의 이마를 치매 돌이 그 이마에 박히니 땅에 엎드러지니라

50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

50 다윗이 이같이 물매와 돌로 블레셋 사람을 이기고 그를 쳐 죽였으나 자기 손에는 칼이 없었더라

15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.

15 블레셋 사람이 다시 이스라엘을 치거늘 다윗이 그 신복들과 함께 내려 가서 블레셋 사람과 싸우더니 다윗이 피곤하매

16 And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.

16 장대한 자의 아들 중에 삼백 세겔중 되는 놋창을 들고 새 칼을 찬 이스비브놉이 다윗을 죽이려 하므로

17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

17 스루야의 아들 아비새가 다윗을 도와 그 블레셋 사람을 쳐 죽이니 다윗의 종자들이 다윗에게 맹세하여 가로되 왕은 다시 우리와 함께 전장에 나가지 마옵소서 이스라엘의 등불이 꺼지지 말게 하옵소서 하니라

18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.

18 그 후에 다시 블레셋 사람과 곱에서 전쟁할 때에 후사 사람 십브개가 장대한 자의 아들 중에 삽을 쳐죽였고

19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

19 또 다시 블레셋 사람과 곱에서 전쟁할 때에 베들레헴 사람 야레오르김의 아들 엘하난이 가드 골리앗의 아우 라흐미를 죽였는데 그 자의 창 자루는 베틀채 같았더라

20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

20 또 가드에서 전쟁할 때에 그곳에 키 큰 자 하나는 매 손과 매 발에 가락이 여섯씩 모두 스물 네 가락이 있는데 저도 장대한 자의 소생이라

21 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.

21 저가 이스라엘 사람을 능욕하므로 다윗의 형 삼마의 아들 요나단이 저를 죽이니라

22 These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

22 이 네 사람 가드의 장대한 자의 소생이 다윗의 손과 그 신복의 손에 다 죽었더라
