10장 효력 있는 부르심

X. Of Effectual Calling

1. All those whom God hath predestinated unto life, and those only, he is pleased, in his appointed and accepted time, effectually to call,^a by his Word and Spirit,^b out of that state of sin and death, in which they are by nature, to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ;^c enlightening their minds, spiritually and savingly, to understand the things of God;^d taking away their heart of stone, and giving unto them an heart of flesh;^e renewing their wills, and by his almighty power determining them to that which is good,^f and effectually drawing them to Jesus Christ;^g yet so as they come most freely, being made willing by his grace.^h

1. 하나님은 생명에 이르도록 예정하신 모든 사람, 그리고 오직 그들만을 정하시고 기뻐하시는 때에 효력 있게 부르시기를 기뻐하신다.^a 그분은 자신의 말씀과 성령으로 부르셔서,^b 그들이 본성상 처해 있는 죄와 죽음의 상태에서 벗어나 예수 그리스도로 말미암는 은혜와 구원에 이르게 하신다.^c 그들의 마음을 영적으로, 구원에 이르는 방식으로 밝히셔서 하나님의 일들을 깨닫게 하시며,^d 돌 같은 마음을 제거하고 살처럼 부드러운 마음을 주시며,^e 그들의 의지를 새롭게 하시고 전능하신 능력으로 선을 향하게 하시며,^f 예수 그리스도께 효력 있게 이끄신다.^g 그러나 그들은 은혜로 자원하는 마음을 얻어 지극히 자유롭게 나아온다.^h

에베소서 1:10-11

10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

고린도후서 3:3, 6

3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

3 너희는 우리로 말미암아 나타난 그리스도의 편지니 이는 먹으로 쓴 것이 아니요 오직 살아 계신 하나님의 영으로 한 것이며 또 돌비에 쓴 것이 아니요 오직 육의 심비에 한 것이라

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

6 저가 또 우리로 새 언약의 일군 되기에 만족케 하셨으니 의문으로 하지 아니하고 오직 영으로 함이니 의문은 죽이는 것이요 영은 살리는 것임이니라

데살로니가후서 2:13-14

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

13 주의 사랑하시는 형제들아 우리가 항상 너희를 위하여 마땅히 하나님께 감사할 것은 하나님이 처음부터 너희를 택하사 성령의 거룩하게 하심과 진리를 믿음으로 구원을 얻게 하심이니

로마서 8:2

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

2 이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 너를 해방하였음이라

에베소서 2:1-5

1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:

1 너희의 허물과 죄로 죽었던 너희를 살리셨도다

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

2 그 때에 너희가 그 가운데서 행하여 이 세상 풍속을 좇고 공중의 권세 잡은 자를 따랐으니 곧 지금 불순종의 아들들 가운데서 역사하는 영이라

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

3 전에는 우리도 다 그 가운데서 우리 육체의 욕심을 따라 지내며 육체와 마음의 원하는 것을 하여 다른이들과 같이 본질상 진노의 자녀이었더니

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

4 긍휼에 풍성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑을 인하여

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

5 허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 (너희가 은혜로 구원을 얻은 것이라)

디모데후서 1:9-10

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

9 하나님이 우리를 구원하사 거룩하신 부르심으로 부르심은 우리의 행위대로 하심이 아니요 오직 자기 뜻과 영원한 때 전부터 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리에게 주신 은혜대로 하심이라

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

10 이제는 우리 구주 그리스도 예수의 나타나심으로 말미암아 나타났으니 저는 사망을 폐하시고 복음으로써 생명과 썩지 아니할 것을 드러내신지라

사도행전 26:18

18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

18 그 눈을 뜨게 하여 어두움에서 빛으로, 사단의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아가게 하고 죄 사함과 나를 믿어 거룩케 된 무리 가운데서 기업을 얻게 하리라 하더이다

고린도전서 2:10, 12

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

10 오직 하나님이 성령으로 이것을 우리에게 보이셨으니 성령은 모든 것 곧 하나님의 깊은 것이라도 통달하시느니라

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

12 우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로 온 영을 받았으니 이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라

에베소서 1:17-18

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

17 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 지혜와 계시의 정신을 너희에게 주사 하나님을 알게 하시고

18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

26 또 새 영을 너희 속에 두고 새 마음을 너희에게 주되 너희 육신에서 굳은 마음을 제하고 부드러운 마음을 줄 것이며

신명기 30:6

6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

6 네 하나님 여호와께서 네 마음과 네 자손의 마음에 할례를 베푸사 너로 마음을 다하며 성품을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 사랑하게 하사 너로 생명을 얻게 하실 것이며

에스겔 11:19

19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

19 내가 그들에게 일치한 마음을 주고 그 속에 새 신을 주며 그 몸에서 굳은 마음을 제하고 부드러운 마음을 주어서

에스겔 36:27

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

27 또 내 신을 너희 속에 두어 너희로 내 율례를 행하게 하리니 너희가 내 규례를 지켜 행할찌라

빌립보서 2:13

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

13 너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희로 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니

요한복음 6:44-45

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

44 나를 보내신 아버지께서 이끌지 아니하면 아무라도 내게 올 수 없으니 오는 그를 내가 마지막 날에 다시 살리리라

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

45 선지자의 글에 저희가 다 하나님의 가르치심을 받으리라 기록되었은즉 아버지께 듣고 배운 사람마다 내게로 오느니라

에베소서 1:19

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

19 그의 힘의 강력으로 역사하심을 따라 믿는 우리에게 베푸신 능력의 지극히 크심이 어떤 것을 너희로 알게 하시기를 구하노라

시편 110:3

3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

3 주의 권능의 날에 주의 백성이 거룩한 옷을 입고 즐거이 헌신하니 새벽 이슬 같은 주의 청년들이 주께 나오는도다

아가서 1:4

4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

4 왕이 나를 침궁으로 이끌어 들이시니 너는 나를 인도하라 우리가 너를 따라 달려가리라 우리가 너를 인하여 기뻐하며 즐거워하니 네 사랑이 포도주에서 지남이라 처녀들이 너를 사랑함이 마땅하니라

요한복음 6:37

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

37 아버지께서 내게 주시는 자는 다 내게로 올 것이요 내게 오는 자는 내가 결코 내어 쫓지 아니하리라

로마서 6:16-18

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

16 너희 자신을 종으로 드려 누구에게 순종하든지 그 순종함을 받는 자의 종이 되는 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 혹은 죄의 종으로 사망에 이르고 혹은 순종의 종으로 의에 이르느니라

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

18 죄에게서 해방되어 의에게 종이 되었느니라

2. This effectual call is of God’s free and special grace alone, not from anything at all foreseen in man;^a who is altogether passive therein, until, being quickened and renewed by the Holy Spirit,^b he is thereby enabled to answer this call, and to embrace the grace offered and conveyed in it.^c

2. 이 효력 있는 부르심은 오직 하나님의 값없고 특별한 은혜에서 나오며, 사람 안에 있는 어떤 것을 미리 보신 데서 나오지 않는다.^a 사람은 성령으로 살아나고 새롭게 될 때까지 이 일에서 전적으로 수동적이다.^b 성령으로 새롭게 된 후에야 그는 이 부르심에 응답하고, 그 안에서 제시되고 전달되는 은혜를 받아들일 수 있게 된다.^c

디도서 3:4-5

4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

4 우리 구주 하나님의 자비와 사람 사랑하심을 나타내실 때에

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

5 우리를 구원하시되 우리의 행한바 의로운 행위로 말미암지 아니하고 오직 그의 긍휼하심을 좇아 중생의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 하셨나니

로마서 8:7

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

고린도전서 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

14 육에 속한 사람은 하나님의 성령의 일을 받지 아니하나니 저희에게는 미련하게 보임이요 또 깨닫지도 못하나니 이런 일은 영적으로라야 분변함이니라

요한복음 6:37

3. Elect infants, dying in infancy, are regenerated and saved by Christ through the Spirit,^a who worketh when, and where, and how he pleaseth.^b So also are all other elect persons who are incapable of being outwardly called by the ministry of the Word.^c

3. 유아기에 죽는 택함 받은 유아들은 성령을 통하여 그리스도로 말미암아 거듭나고 구원받는다.^a 성령은 자신이 기뻐하시는 때와 곳과 방식으로 역사하신다.^b 말씀의 사역을 통하여 외적으로 부르심 받을 수 없는 다른 모든 택함 받은 사람도 이와 같다.^c

요한복음 3:3, 5

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

3 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님 나라를 볼수 없느니라

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

사도행전 2:38-39

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

38 베드로가 가로되 너희가 회개하여 각각 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 세례를 받고 죄 사함을 얻으라 그리하면 성령을 선물로 받으리니

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

로마서 8:9

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

요한일서 5:12

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

12 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라

요한복음 3:8

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

8 바람이 임의로 불매 네가 그 소리를 들어도 어디서 오며 어디로 가는지 알지 못하나니 성령으로 난 사람은 다 이러하니라

사도행전 4:12

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

12 다른이로서는 구원을 얻을 수 없나니 천하 인간에 구원을 얻을만한 다른 이름을 우리에게 주신 일이 없음이니라 하였더라

요한일서 5:12

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

12 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라

4. Others, not elected, although they may be called by the ministry of the Word,^a and may have some common operations of the Spirit,^b yet they never truly come unto Christ, and therefore cannot be saved:^c much less can men, not professing the Christian religion, be saved in any other way whatsoever, be they never so diligent to frame their lives according to the light of nature and the law of that religion they do profess;^d and to assert and maintain that they may is very pernicious, and to be detested.^e

4. 택함 받지 않은 다른 사람들은 말씀의 사역을 통해 부르심을 받을 수 있고,^a 성령의 일반적인 역사도 어느 정도 경험할 수 있다.^b 그러나 그들은 결코 참으로 그리스도께 나아오지 않으므로 구원받을 수 없다.^c 하물며 기독교 신앙을 고백하지 않는 사람들은, 자연의 빛과 자신들이 고백하는 종교의 법에 따라 아무리 부지런히 살려고 힘써도, 다른 어떤 길로도 구원받을 수 없다.^d 그들이 구원받을 수 있다고 주장하고 고집하는 것은 매우 해로우며 마땅히 배격해야 한다.^e

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

4 한번 비췸을 얻고 하늘의 은사를 맛보고 성령에 참예한바 되고

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

5 하나님의 선한 말씀과 내세의 능력을 맛보고

요한복음 6:64-66

64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

64 그러나 너희 중에 믿지 아니하는 자들이 있느니라 하시니 이는 예수께서 믿지 아니하는 자들이 누구며 자기를 팔 자가 누군지 처음부터 아심이러라

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

요한복음 8:24

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

갈라디아서 1:6-8

요한이서 1:9-11

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

9 지내쳐 그리스도 교훈 안에 거하지 아니하는 자마다 하나님을 모시지 못하되 교훈 안에 거하는 이 사람이 아버지와 아들을 모시느니라

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

10 누구든지 이 교훈을 가지지 않고 너희에게 나아가거든 그를 집에 들이지도 말고 인사도 말라

11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

11 그에게 인사하는 자는 그 악한 일에 참예하는 자임이니라
