XII. Of Adoption

1. All those that are justified God vouchsafeth, in and for his only Son Jesus Christ, to make partakers of the grace of adoption;^a by which they are taken into the number, and enjoy the liberties and privileges of the children of God;^b have his name put upon them;^c receive the Spirit of adoption;^d have access to the throne of grace with boldness;^e are enabled to cry, Abba, Father;^f are pitied,^g protected,^h provided for,ⁱ and chastened by him as by a father;^j yet never cast off,^k but sealed to the day of redemption,^l and inherit the promises,^m as heirs of everlasting salvation.ⁿ

1. 하나님은 의롭다 하신 모든 사람에게 자신의 유일하신 아들 예수 그리스도 안에서, 그분 때문에 양자 됨의 은혜에 참여하도록 허락하신다.^a 이로써 그들은 하나님의 자녀의 수에 들어가 자녀의 자유와 특권을 누리며,^b 하나님의 이름으로 불리고,^c 양자의 영을 받으며,^d 은혜의 보좌에 담대히 나아가고,^e 아바, 아버지라고 부를 수 있게 된다.^f 그들은 하나님의 긍휼을 받고,^g 보호를 받으며,^h 필요한 것을 공급받고,ⁱ 아버지께 받듯이 징계를 받는다.^j 그러나 결코 버림받지 않으며,^k 구속의 날까지 인치심을 받고,^l 약속들을 상속받으며,^m 영원한 구원의 상속자가 된다.ⁿ

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

5 율법 아래 있는 자들을 속량하시고 우리로 아들의 명분을 얻게 하려 하심이라

에베소서 1:5

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

5 그 기쁘신 뜻대로 우리를 예정하사 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 자기의 아들들이 되게 하셨으니

요한복음 1:12

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

12 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니

로마서 8:17

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

17 자녀이면 또한 후사 곧 하나님의 후사요 그리스도와 함께한 후사니 우리가 그와 함께 영광을 받기 위하여 고난도 함께 받아야 될 것이니라

예레미야 14:9

9 Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.

9 어찌하여 놀라 벙벙하는 자 같으시며 구원치 못하는 용사 같으시니이까 여호와여 주는 오히려 우리 중에 계시고 우리는 주의 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 자이오니 우리를 버리지 마옵소서

고린도후서 6:18

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

18 너희에게 아버지가 되고 너희는 내게 자녀가 되리라 전능하신 주의 말씀이니라 하셨느니라

요한계시록 3:12

12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

12 이기는 자는 내 하나님 성전에 기둥이 되게 하리니 그가 결코 다시 나가지 아니하리라 내가 하나님의 이름과 하나님의 성 곧 하늘에서 내 하나님께로부터 내려 오는 새 예루살렘의 이름과 나의 새 이름을 그이 위에 기록하리라

로마서 8:15

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

15 너희는 다시 무서워하는 종의 영을 받지 아니하였고 양자의 영을 받았으므로 아바 아버지라 부르짖느니라

로마서 5:2

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

2 또한 그로 말미암아 우리가 믿음으로 서 있는 이 은혜에 들어감을 얻었으며 하나님의 영광을 바라고 즐거워하느니라

에베소서 3:12

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

12 우리가 그 안에서 그를 믿음으로 말미암아 담대함과 하나님께 당당히 나아감을 얻느니라

갈라디아서 4:6

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

6 너희가 아들인고로 하나님이 그 아들의 영을 우리 마음 가운데 보내사 아바 아버지라 부르게 하셨느니라

시편 103:13

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

13 아비가 자식을 불쌍히 여김 같이 여호와께서 자기를 경외하는 자를 불쌍히 여기시나니

잠언 14:26

26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

26 여호와를 경외하는 자에게는 견고한 의뢰가 있나니 그 자녀들에게 피난처가 있으리라

마태복음 6:30, 32

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

30 오늘 있다가 내일 아궁이에 던지우는 들풀도 하나님이 이렇게 입히시거든 하물며 너희일까보냐 믿음이 적은 자들아

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

32 이는 다 이방인들이 구하는 것이라 너희 천부께서 이 모든 것이 너희에게 있어야 할 줄을 아시느니라

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
