XXVI. Of the Communion of Saints

1. All saints that are united to Jesus Christ their head, by his Spirit and by faith, have fellowship with him in his graces, sufferings, death, resurrection, and glory:^a and being united to one another in love, they have communion in each other’s gifts and graces,^b and are obliged to the performance of such duties, public and private, as do conduce to their mutual good, both in the inward and outward man.^c

1. 성령과 믿음으로 머리이신 예수 그리스도와 연합한 모든 성도는 그분의 은혜와 고난과 죽음과 부활과 영광에 함께 참여한다.^a 또한 사랑 안에서 서로 연합되어 각자의 은사와 은혜를 함께 나누며,^b 속사람과 겉사람 모두의 상호 유익에 도움이 되는 공적·사적 의무를 수행할 책임이 있다.^c

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

로마서 6:5-6

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

5 만일 우리가 그의 죽으심을 본받아 연합한 자가 되었으면 또한 그의 부활을 본받아 연합한 자가 되리라

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

에베소서 2:5-6

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

에베소서 3:16-19

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

19 그 넓이와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠함을 깨달아 하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희에게 충만하게 하시기를 구하노라

빌립보서 3:10

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

디모데후서 2:12

12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

요한일서 1:3

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

3 우리가 보고 들은 바를 너희에게도 전함은 너희로 우리와 사귐이 있게 하려 함이니 우리의 사귐은 아버지와 그 아들 예수 그리스도와 함께 함이라

고린도전서 3:21-23

21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;

21 그런즉 누구든지 사람을 자랑하지 말라 만물이 다 너희 것임이라

22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

22 바울이나 아볼로나 게바나 세계나 생명이나 사망이나 지금 것이나 장래 것이나 다 너희의 것이요

23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

고린도전서 12:7

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

7 각 사람에게 성령의 나타남을 주심은 유익하게 하려 하심이라

에베소서 4:15-16

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

15 오직 사랑 안에서 참된 것을 하여 범사에 그에게까지 자랄찌라 그는 머리니 곧 그리스도라

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

16 그에게서 온 몸이 각 마디를 통하여 도움을 입음으로 연락하고 상합하여 각 지체의 분량대로 역사하여 그 몸을 자라게 하며 사랑 안에서 스스로 세우느니라

골로새서 2:19

19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

19 머리를 붙들지 아니하는지라 온 몸이 머리로 말미암아 마디와 힘줄로 공급함을 얻고 연합하여 하나님이 자라게 하심으로 자라느니라

로마서 1:11-12, 14

11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

11 내가 너희 보기를 심히 원하는 것은 무슨 신령한 은사를 너희에게 나눠 주어 너희를 견고케 하려함이니

12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

12 이는 곧 내가 너희 가운데서 너희와 나의 믿음을 인하여 피차 안위함을 얻으려 함이라

14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

갈라디아서 6:10

10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

10 그러므로 우리는 기회 있는대로 모든 이에게 착한 일을 하되 더욱 믿음의 가정들에게 할찌니라

데살로니가전서 5:11, 14

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

11 그러므로 피차 권면하고 피차 덕을 세우기를 너희가 하는것 같이 하라

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

14 또 형제들아 너희를 권면하노니 규모 없는 자들을 권계하며 마음이 약한 자들을 안위하고 힘이 없는 자들을 붙들어 주며 모든 사람을 대하여 오래 참으라

요한일서 3:16-18

16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

16 그가 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리셨으니 우리가 이로써 사랑을 알고 우리도 형제들을 위하여 목숨을 버리는 것이 마땅하니라

17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

17 누가 이 세상 재물을 가지고 형제의 궁핍함을 보고도 도와줄 마음을 막으면 하나님의 사랑이 어찌 그 속에 거할까보냐

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

18 자녀들아 우리가 말과 혀로만 사랑하지 말고 오직 행함과 진실함으로 하자

2. Saints, by profession, are bound to maintain an holy fellowship and communion in the worship of God, and in performing such other spiritual services as tend to their mutual edification;^a as also in relieving each other in outward things, according to their several abilities and necessities. Which communion, as God offereth opportunity, is to be extended unto all those who, in every place, call upon the name of the Lord Jesus.^b

2. 성도들은 신앙 고백에 따라, 하나님께 예배하며 서로를 세우는 데 도움이 되는 다른 영적 봉사를 행하는 가운데 거룩한 교제와 나눔을 유지할 의무가 있다.^a 또한 각자의 능력과 필요에 따라 물질적인 일에서도 서로 도와야 한다. 이러한 교제는 하나님께서 기회를 주시는 대로, 모든 곳에서 주 예수의 이름을 부르는 모든 사람에게까지 확대되어야 한다.^b

3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

3 많은 백성이 가며 이르기를 오라 우리가 여호와의 산에 오르며 야곱의 하나님의 전에 이르자 그가 그 도로 우리에게 가르치실 것이라 우리가 그 길로 행하리라 하리니 이는 율법이 시온에서부터 나올 것이요 여호와의 말씀이 예루살렘에서부터 나올 것임이니라

사도행전 2:42, 46

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

42 저희가 사도의 가르침을 받아 서로 교제하며 떡을 떼며 기도하기를 전혀 힘쓰니라

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

46 날마다 마음을 같이 하여 성전에 모이기를 힘쓰고 집에서 떡을 떼며 기쁨과 순전한 마음으로 음식을 먹고

고린도전서 11:20

20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

20 그런즉 너희가 함께 모여서 주의 만찬을 먹을 수 없으니

히브리서 10:24-25

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

24 서로 돌아보아 사랑과 선행을 격려하며

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

25 모이기를 폐하는 어떤 사람들의 습관과 같이 하지 말고 오직 권하여 그날이 가까움을 볼수록 더욱 그리하자

사도행전 2:44-45

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

44 믿는 사람이 다 함께 있어 모든 물건을 서로 통용하고

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

45 또 재산과 소유를 팔아 각 사람의 필요를 따라 나눠 주고

사도행전 11:29-30

29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

29 제자들이 각각 그 힘대로 유대에 사는 형제들에게 부조를 보내기로 작정하고

30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

30 이를 실행하여 바나바와 사울의 손으로 장로들에게 보내니라

요한일서 3:17

17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

17 누가 이 세상 재물을 가지고 형제의 궁핍함을 보고도 도와줄 마음을 막으면 하나님의 사랑이 어찌 그 속에 거할까보냐

3. This communion which the saints have with Christ, doth not make them in any wise partakers of the substance of his Godhead, or to be equal with Christ in any respect: either of which to affirm is impious and blasphemous.^a Nor doth their communion one with another, as saints, take away or infringe the title or propriety which each man hath in his goods and possessions.^b

3. 성도들이 그리스도와 누리는 이 교제는 어떤 방식으로도 그들을 그분의 신적 본질에 참여하게 하거나 어떤 점에서든 그리스도와 동등하게 만들지 않는다. 그 어느 쪽을 주장하든 불경하고 신성모독적인 것이다.^a 또한 성도들 상호 간의 교제가 각 사람이 자기 재산과 소유에 대하여 갖는 권리와 소유권을 없애거나 침해하지 않는다.^b

7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

7 왕이 정의를 사랑하고 악을 미워하시니 그러므로 하나님 곧 왕의 하나님이 즐거움의 기름으로 왕에게 부어 왕의 동류보다 승하게 하셨나이다

히브리서 1:8-9

8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

8 아들에 관하여는 하나님이여 주의 보좌가 영영하며 주의 나라의 홀은 공평한 홀이니이다

9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

9 네가 의를 사랑하고 불법을 미워하였으니 그러므로 하나님 곧 너의 하나님이 즐거움의 기름을 네게 부어 네 동류들보다 승하게 하셨도다 하였고

이사야 42:8

8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

고린도전서 8:6

6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

6 그러나 우리에게는 한 하나님 곧 아버지가 계시니 만물이 그에게서 났고 우리도 그를 위하며 또한 한 주 예수 그리스도께서 계시니 만물이 그로 말미암고 우리도 그로 말미암았느니라

골로새서 1:18-19

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

18 그는 몸인 교회의 머리라 그가 근본이요 죽은 자들 가운데서 먼저 나신 자니 이는 친히 만물의 으뜸이 되려 하심이요

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

19 아버지께서는 모든 충만으로 예수 안에 거하게 하시고

디모데전서 6:15-16

15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

15 기약이 이르면 하나님이 그의 나타나심을 보이시리니 하나님은 복되시고 홀로 한 분이신 능하신 자이며 만왕의 왕이시며 만주의 주시요

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

출애굽기 20:15

15 Thou shalt not steal.

15 도적질하지 말찌니라

사도행전 5:4

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

4 땅이 그대로 있을 때에는 네 땅이 아니며 판 후에도 네 임의로 할 수가 없더냐 어찌하여 이 일을 네 마음에 두었느냐 사람에게 거짓말 한 것이 아니요 하나님께로다

에베소서 4:28

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

28 도적질하는 자는 다시 도적질하지 말고 돌이켜 빈궁한 자에게 구제할 것이 있기 위하여 제 손으로 수고하여 선한 일을 하라
