문답 180 그리스도의 이름으로 기도한다는 것은 무엇입니까?

What is it to pray in the name of Christ?

To pray in the name of Christ is, in obedience to his command, and in confidence on his promises, to ask mercy for his sake;¹ not by bare mentioning of his name,² but by drawing our encouragement to pray, and our boldness, strength, and hope of acceptance in prayer, from Christ and his mediation.³

그리스도의 이름으로 기도한다는 것은 그분의 명령에 순종하고 약속을 신뢰하여 그분 때문에 긍휼을 구하는 것입니다.¹ 단지 그분의 이름을 언급하는 것이 아니라,² 기도할 용기와 담대함과 힘과 기도가 받아들여지리라는 소망을 그리스도와 그분의 중보에서 얻는 것입니다.³

요한복음 14:13-14

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

13 너희가 내 이름으로 무엇을 구하든지 내가 시행하리니 이는 아버지로 하여금 아들을 인하여 영광을 얻으시게 하려 함이라

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

14 내 이름으로 무엇이든지 내게 구하면 내가 시행하리라

요한복음 16:24

24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

24 지금까지는 너희가 내 이름으로 아무 것도 구하지 아니하였으나 구하라 그리하면 받으리니 너희 기쁨이 충만하리라

다니엘 9:17

17 Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.

17 그러하온즉 우리 하나님이여 지금 주의 종의 기도와 간구를 들으시고 주를 위하여 주의 얼굴 빛을 주의 황폐한 성소에 비취시옵소서

마태복음 7:21

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

21 나더러 주여 주여 하는 자마다 천국에 다 들어갈 것이 아니요 다만 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻대로 행하는 자라야 들어가리라

히브리서 4:14-16

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

14 그러므로 우리에게 큰 대제사장이 있으니 승천하신 자 곧 하나님 아들 예수시라 우리가 믿는 도리를 굳게 잡을찌어다

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

15 우리에게 있는 대제사장은 우리 연약함을 체휼하지 아니하는 자가 아니요 모든 일에 우리와 한결 같이 시험을 받은 자로되 죄는 없으시니라

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

16 그러므로 우리가 긍휼하심을 받고 때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라

요한일서 5:13-15

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

13 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓴 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

14 그를 향하여 우리의 가진바 담대한 것이 이것이니 그의 뜻대로 무엇을 구하면 들으심이라

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

15 우리가 무엇이든지 구하는 바를 들으시는 줄을 안즉 우리가 그에게 구한 그것을 얻은 줄을 또한 아느니라
