문답 181 우리는 왜 그리스도의 이름으로 기도해야 합니까?

Why are we to pray in the name of Christ?

The sinfulness of man, and his distance from God by reason thereof, being so great, as that we can have no access into his presence without a mediator;¹ and there being none in heaven or earth appointed to, or fit for, that glorious work but Christ alone,² we are to pray in no other name but his only.³

사람의 죄악과 그로 인하여 하나님과 멀어진 거리가 너무 크므로 중보자 없이는 그분 앞에 나아갈 수 없습니다.¹ 하늘이나 땅에서 이 영광스러운 일에 임명되거나 합당하신 분은 오직 그리스도뿐이십니다.² 그러므로 우리는 다른 어떤 이름으로도 기도하지 말고 오직 그분의 이름으로만 기도해야 합니다.³

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

6 예수께서 가라사대 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라

이사야 59:2

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

2 오직 너희 죄악이 너희와 너희 하나님 사이를 내었고 너희 죄가 그 얼굴을 가리워서 너희를 듣지 않으시게 함이니

에베소서 3:12

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

12 우리가 그 안에서 그를 믿음으로 말미암아 담대함과 하나님께 당당히 나아감을 얻느니라

요한복음 6:27

27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

27 썩는 양식을 위하여 일하지 말고 영생하도록 있는 양식을 위하여 하라 이 양식은 인자가 너희에게 주리니 인자는 아버지 하나님의 인치신 자니라

히브리서 7:25-27

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

25 그러므로 자기를 힘입어 하나님께 나아가는 자들을 온전히 구원하실 수 있으니 이는 그가 항상 살아서 저희를 위하여 간구하심이니라

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

26 이러한 대제사장은 우리에게 합당하니 거룩하고 악이 없고 더러움이 없고 죄인에게서 떠나 계시고 하늘보다 높이 되신 자라

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

27 저가 저 대제사장들이 먼저 자기 죄를 위하고 다음에 백성의 죄를 위하여 날마다 제사 드리는 것과 같이 할 필요가 없으니 이는 저가 단번에 자기를 드려 이루셨음이니라

디모데전서 2:5

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

5 하나님은 한 분이시요 또 하나님과 사람 사이에 중보도 한 분이시니 곧 사람이신 그리스도 예수라

골로새서 3:17

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

17 또 무엇을 하든지 말에나 일에나 다 주 예수의 이름으로 하고 그를 힘입어 하나님 아버지께 감사하라

히브리서 13:15

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

15 이러므로 우리가 예수로 말미암아 항상 찬미의 제사를 하나님께 드리자 이는 그 이름을 증거하는 입술의 열매니라
