문답 185 우리는 어떻게 기도해야 합니까?

How are we to pray?

We are to pray with an awful apprehension of the majesty of God,¹ and deep sense of our own unworthiness,² necessities,³ and sins;⁴ with penitent,⁵ thankful,⁶ and enlarged hearts;⁷ with understanding,⁸ faith,⁹ sincerity,¹⁰ fervency,¹¹ love,¹² and perseverance,¹³ waiting upon him,¹⁴ with humble submission to his will.¹⁵

우리는 하나님의 위엄을 두려움으로 깨닫고,¹ 자신의 무가치함과,² 필요와,³ 죄를 깊이 느끼며 기도해야 합니다.⁴ 회개하고,⁵ 감사하며,⁶ 넓어진 마음으로,⁷ 깨달음과,⁸ 믿음과,⁹ 진실함과,¹⁰ 간절함과,¹¹ 사랑과,¹² 끈기를 가지고,¹³ 하나님을 기다리며,¹⁴ 그분의 뜻에 겸손히 복종하여 기도해야 합니다.¹⁵

1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

1 너는 하나님의 전에 들어갈 때에 네 발을 삼갈찌어다 가까이 하여 말씀을 듣는 것이 우매자의 제사 드리는 것보다 나으니 저희는 악을 행하면서도 깨닫지 못함이니라

창세기 18:27

27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:

27 아브라함이 말씀하여 가로되 티끌과 같은 나라도 감히 주께 고하나이다

창세기 32:10

10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast showed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.

누가복음 18:13-14

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

13 세리는 멀리 서서 감히 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러 보지도 못하고 다만 가슴을 치며 가로되 하나님이여 불쌍히 여기옵소서 나는 죄인이로소이다 하였느니라

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

14 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이 사람이 저보다 의롭다 하심을 받고 집에 내려 갔느니라 무릇 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라 하시니라

시편 51:17

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

17 하나님의 구하시는 제사는 상한 심령이라 하나님이여 상하고 통회하는 마음을 주께서 멸시치 아니하시리이다

빌립보서 4:6

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

6 아무 것도 염려하지 말고 오직 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라

사무엘상 1:15

15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

15 한나가 대답하여 가로되 나의 주여 그렇지 아니하니이다 나는 마음이 슬픈 여자라 포도주나 독주를 마신 것이 아니요 여호와 앞에 나의 심정을 통한것 뿐이오니

사무엘상 2:1

1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

1 한나가 기도하여 가로되 내 마음이 여호와를 인하여 즐거워하며 내 뿔이 여호와를 인하여 높아졌으며 내 입이 내 원수들을 향하여 크게 열렸으니 이는 내가 주의 구원을 인하여 기뻐함이니이다

고린도전서 14:15

15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

15 그러면 어떻게 할꼬 내가 영으로 기도하고 또 마음으로 기도하며 내가 영으로 찬미하고 또 마음으로 찬미하리라

마가복음 11:24

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

24 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말하노니 무엇이든지 기도하고 구하는 것은 받은 줄로 믿으라 그리하면 너희에게 그대로 되리라

야고보서 1:6

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

6 오직 믿음으로 구하고 조금도 의심하지 말라 의심하는 자는 마치 바람에 밀려 요동하는 바다 물결 같으니

18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

18 여호와께서는 자기에게 간구하는 모든 자 곧 진실하게 간구하는 모든 자에게 가까이 하시는도다

1 A prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

1 여호와여 정직함을 들으소서 나의 부르짖음에 주의하소서 거짓되지 않은 입술에서 나오는 내 기도에 귀를 기울이소서

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

16 이러므로 너희 죄를 서로 고하며 병 낫기를 위하여 서로 기도하라 의인의 간구는 역사하는 힘이 많으니라

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
