문답 189 주기도문의 서문은 우리에게 무엇을 가르칩니까?

What doth the preface of the Lord’ s prayer teach us?

The preface of the Lord’ s prayer (contained in these words, Our Father which art in heaven,¹ ) teacheth us, when we pray, to draw near to God with confidence of his fatherly goodness, and our interest therein;² with reverence, and all other child-like dispositions,³ heavenly affections,⁴ and due apprehensions of his sovereign power, majesty, and gracious condescension:⁵ as also, to pray with and for others.⁶

주기도문의 서문은 “하늘에 계신 우리 아버지여”라는 말씀에 담겨 있습니다.¹ 이는 우리가 기도할 때 하나님의 아버지다운 선하심과 그것에 참여하고 있음을 확신하며,² 경외심과 그 밖에 자녀다운 모든 태도와,³ 하늘을 향한 마음과,⁴ 그분의 주권적 능력과 위엄과 은혜롭게 자신을 낮추심에 대한 합당한 깨달음으로 하나님께 나아가도록 가르칩니다.⁵ 또한 다른 사람들과 함께, 또 그들을 위하여 기도하도록 가르칩니다.⁶

누가복음 11:13

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

로마서 8:15

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

15 주여 하늘에서 굽어 살피시며 주의 거룩하고 영화로운 처소에서 보옵소서 주의 열성과 주의 능하신 행동이 이제 어디 있나이까 주의 베푸시던 간곡한 자비와 긍휼이 내게 그쳤나이다

16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

16 주는 우리 아버지시라 아브라함은 우리를 모르고 이스라엘은 우리를 인정치 아니할찌라도 여호와여 주는 우리의 아버지시라 상고부터 주의 이름을 우리의 구속자라 하셨거늘

느헤미야 1:4-6

4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,

5 가로되 하늘의 하나님 여호와 크고 두려우신 하나님이여 주를 사랑하고 주의 계명을 지키는 자에게 언약을 지키시며 긍휼을 베푸시는 주여 간구하나이다

6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.

6 이제 종이 주의 종 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 주야로 기도하오며 이스라엘 자손의 주 앞에 범죄함을 자복하오니 주는 귀를 기울이시며 눈을 여시사 종의 기도를 들으시옵소서 나와 나의 아비 집이 범죄하여

사도행전 12:5

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
