문답 39 중보자는 왜 사람이셔야 했습니까?

Why was it requisite that the Mediator should be man?

It was requisite that the Mediator should be man, that he might advance our nature,¹ perform obedience to the law,² suffer and make intercession for us in our nature,³ have a fellow-feeling of our infirmities;⁴ that we might receive the adoption of sons,⁵ and have comfort and access with boldness unto the throne of grace.⁶

우리의 본성을 높이시고,¹ 율법에 순종하시며,² 우리의 본성으로 고난받고 우리를 위해 간구하시며,³ 우리의 연약함을 함께 느끼시기 위해서입니다.⁴ 또한 우리가 양자 됨을 받고,⁵ 위로를 얻으며 은혜의 보좌에 담대히 나아가게 하시기 위해서입니다.⁶

히브리서 2:16

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

히브리서 7:24-25

24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

24 예수는 영원히 계시므로 그 제사 직분도 갈리지 아니하나니

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

25 그러므로 자기를 힘입어 하나님께 나아가는 자들을 온전히 구원하실 수 있으니 이는 그가 항상 살아서 저희를 위하여 간구하심이니라

히브리서 4:15

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

15 우리에게 있는 대제사장은 우리 연약함을 체휼하지 아니하는 자가 아니요 모든 일에 우리와 한결 같이 시험을 받은 자로되 죄는 없으시니라

갈라디아서 4:5

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

5 율법 아래 있는 자들을 속량하시고 우리로 아들의 명분을 얻게 하려 하심이라

히브리서 4:16

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

16 그러므로 우리가 긍휼하심을 받고 때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라
