Christ executeth the office of a priest, in his once offering himself a sacrifice without spot to God,1 to be reconciliation for the sins of his people;2 and in making continual intercession for them.3
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
