문답 73 믿음은 어떻게 죄인을 하나님 앞에서 의롭다 하심 받게 합니까?

How doth faith justify a sinner in the sight of God?

Faith justifies a sinner in the sight of God, not because of those other graces which do always accompany it, or of good works that are the fruits of it,¹ nor as if the grace of faith, or any act thereof, were imputed to him for his justification;² but only as it is an instrument by which he receiveth and applieth Christ and his righteousness.³

믿음에 항상 수반되는 다른 은혜들이나 그 열매인 선행들 때문이 아니며,¹ 믿음의 은혜나 어떤 믿는 행위가 칭의를 위한 의로 전가되기 때문도 아닙니다.² 오직 그리스도와 그분의 의를 받아들이고 적용하는 도구이기 때문입니다.³

갈라디아서 3:11

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

11 또 하나님 앞에서 아무나 율법으로 말미암아 의롭게 되지 못할 것이 분명하니 이는 의인이 믿음으로 살리라 하였음이니라

로마서 3:28

28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

28 그러므로 사람이 의롭다 하심을 얻는 것은 율법의 행위에 있지 않고 믿음으로 되는줄 우리가 인정하노라

로마서 4:5

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

5 일을 아니할찌라도 경건치 아니한 자를 의롭다 하시는 이를 믿는 자에게는 그의 믿음을 의로 여기시나니

로마서 10:10

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

10 사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르느니라

요한복음 1:12

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

12 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니

빌립보서 3:9

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

9 그 안에서 발견되려 함이니 내가 가진 의는 율법에서 난 것이 아니요 오직 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암은 것이니 곧 믿음으로 하나님께로서 난 의라

갈라디아서 2:16

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

16 사람이 의롭게 되는 것은 율법의 행위에서 난 것이 아니요 오직 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암는줄 아는고로 우리도 그리스도 예수를 믿나니 이는 우리가 율법의 행위에서 아니고 그리스도를 믿음으로서 의롭다 함을 얻으려 함이라 율법의 행위로서는 의롭다 함을 얻을 육체가 없느니라
