문답 75 성화는 무엇입니까?

What is sanctification?

Sanctification is a work of God’ s grace, whereby they whom God hath, before the foundation of the world, chosen to be holy, are in time, through the powerful operation of his Spirit¹ applying the death and resurrection of Christ unto them,² (renewed in their whole man after the image of God;)³ having the seeds of repentance unto life, and all other saving graces, put into their hearts,⁴ and those graces so stirred up, increased, and strengthened,⁵ as that they more and more die unto sin, and rise unto newness of life.⁶

성화는 하나님의 은혜의 역사입니다. 하나님께서 창세 전에 거룩하게 하시려고 택하신 사람들이 때가 되어 성령의 능력 있는 역사로,¹ 그리스도의 죽음과 부활을 자신들에게 적용받아,² 전인격이 하나님의 형상을 따라 새롭게 됩니다.³ 생명에 이르는 회개와 다른 모든 구원하는 은혜의 씨앗이 그들의 마음에 심기고,⁴ 그 은혜들이 일깨워지고 자라나며 강해져서,⁵ 점점 더 죄에 대하여 죽고 새 생명으로 살아나게 됩니다.⁶

에베소서 1:4

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

고린도전서 6:11

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

11 너희 중에 이와 같은 자들이 있더니 주 예수 그리스도의 이름과 우리 하나님의 성령 안에서 씻음과 거룩함과 의롭다 하심을 얻었느니라

데살로니가후서 2:13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

로마서 6:4-6

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

4 그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이니라

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

요한일서 3:9

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

9 하나님께로서 난 자마다 죄를 짓지 아니하나니 이는 하나님의 씨가 그의 속에 거함이요 저도 범죄치 못하는 것은 하나님께로서 났음이라

유다서 1:20

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

히브리서 6:11-12

11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
