문답 80 참된 신자들은 자신이 은혜의 상태에 있으며 그 안에서 끝까지 견디어 구원에 이를 것을 틀림없이 확신할 수 있습니까?

Can true believers be infallibly assured that they are in the estate of grace, and that they shall persevere therein unto salvation?

Such as truly believe in Christ, and endeavour to walk in all good conscience before him,¹ may, without extraordinary revelation, by faith grounded upon the truth of God’ s promises, and by the Spirit enabling them to discern in themselves those graces to which the promises of life are made,² and bearing witness with their spirits that they are the children of God,³ be infallibly assured that they are in the estate of grace, and shall persevere therein unto salvation.⁴

그리스도를 참으로 믿고 그분 앞에서 모든 일에 선한 양심으로 행하려고 힘쓰는 사람들은,¹ 특별한 계시 없이도 하나님의 약속의 진실함에 근거한 믿음과, 생명의 약속이 주어진 은혜들이 자기 안에 있음을 분별하게 하시는 성령으로 말미암아,² 또 자신이 하나님의 자녀임을 자기 영과 함께 증언하시는 성령으로 말미암아,³ 자신이 은혜의 상태에 있으며 그 안에서 끝까지 견디어 구원에 이를 것을 틀림없이 확신할 수 있습니다.⁴

요한일서 2:3

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

고린도전서 2:12

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

12 우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로 온 영을 받았으니 이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라

요한일서 3:14, 18-19, 21, 24

14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

14 우리가 형제를 사랑함으로 사망에서 옮겨 생명으로 들어간 줄을 알거니와 사랑치 아니하는 자는 사망에 거하느니라

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

18 자녀들아 우리가 말과 혀로만 사랑하지 말고 오직 행함과 진실함으로 하자

19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

19 이로써 우리가 진리에 속한 줄을 알고 또 우리 마음을 주 앞에서 굳세게 하리로다

21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

21 사랑하는 자들아 만일 우리 마음이 우리를 책망할 것이 없으면 하나님 앞에서 담대함을 얻고

24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

24 그의 계명들을 지키는 자는 주 안에 거하고 주는 저 안에 거하시나니 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 그가 우리 안에 거하시는 줄을 우리가 아느니라

요한일서 4:13, 16

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

13 그의 성령을 우리에게 주시므로 우리가 그 안에 거하고 그가 우리 안에 거하시는 줄을 아느니라

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

16 하나님이 우리를 사랑하시는 사랑을 우리가 알고 믿었노니 하나님은 사랑이시라 사랑 안에 거하는 자는 하나님 안에 거하고 하나님도 그 안에 거하시느니라

히브리서 6:11-12

11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

11 우리가 간절히 원하는 것은 너희 각 사람이 동일한 부지런을 나타내어 끝까지 소망의 풍성함에 이르러

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

12 게으르지 아니하고 믿음과 오래 참음으로 말미암아 약속들을 기업으로 받는 자들을 본받는 자 되게 하려는 것이니라

로마서 8:16

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

16 성령이 친히 우리 영으로 더불어 우리가 하나님의 자녀인 것을 증거하시나니

요한일서 5:13

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

13 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓴 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라
