문답 85 죽음이 죄의 삯이고 의인들의 모든 죄가 그리스도 안에서 용서되었다면, 왜 그들은 죽음에서 구출되지 않습니까?

Death, being the wages of sin, why are not the righteous delivered from death, seeing all their sins are forgiven in Christ?

The righteous shall be delivered from death itself at the last day, and even in death are delivered from the sting and curse of it;¹ so that, although they die, yet it is out of God’ s love,² to free them perfectly from sin and misery,³ and to make them capable of further communion with Christ in glory, which they then enter upon.⁴

의인들은 마지막 날에 죽음 자체에서 구출될 것이며, 죽을 때에도 죽음의 쏘는 것과 저주에서 구출됩니다.¹ 따라서 그들이 죽더라도 그것은 하나님의 사랑에서 비롯됩니다.² 하나님께서는 그들을 죄와 비참에서 완전히 해방하시고,³ 그때 들어가게 되는 영광 가운데 그리스도와 더욱 깊이 교제할 수 있게 하시려는 것입니다.⁴

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

55 사망아 너의 이기는 것이 어디 있느냐 사망아 너의 쏘는 것이 어디 있느냐

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

56 사망의 쏘는 것은 죄요 죄의 권능은 율법이라

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

57 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 우리에게 이김을 주시는 하나님께 감사하노니

히브리서 2:15

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

15 또 죽기를 무서워하므로 일생에 매여 종노릇하는 모든 자들을 놓아 주려 하심이니

이사야 57:1-2

1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

1 의인이 죽을찌라도 마음에 두는 자가 없고 자비한 자들이 취하여 감을 입을찌라도 그 의인은 화액 전에 취하여 감을 입은 것인줄로 깨닫는 자가 없도다

2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

20 Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

13 또 내가 들으니 하늘에서 음성이 나서 가로되 기록하라 자금 이후로 주 안에서 죽는 자들은 복이 있도다 하시매 성령이 가라사대 그러하다 저희 수고를 그치고 쉬리니 이는 저희의 행한 일이 따름이라 하시더라

에베소서 5:27

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

누가복음 23:43

43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
