8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.	8 Though the prophet's word may come to an end, tongues come to nothing, and knowledge have no more value, love has no end.	8 사랑은 언제까지든지 떨어지지 아니하나 예언도 폐하고 방언도 그치고 지식도 폐하리라

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.	9 For our knowledge is only in part, and the prophet's word gives only a part of what is true:	9 우리가 부분적으로 알고 부분적으로 예언하니

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.	10 But when that which is complete is come, then that which is in part will be no longer necessary.	10 온전한 것이 올 때에는 부분적으로 하던 것이 폐하리라

영문학의 위대한 고전인 KJV 영어 성경의 영어(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
