환난 중에 어떻게 하나님께 나아갈 것인가, 그리고 형통한 상황과 역경 가운데서 어떻게 행할 것인가. (1-11) 모든 악은 우리 자신에게서, 모든 선은 하나님에게서 나옴을 볼 것. (12-18) 경솔한 성미를 경계하고 하나님의 말씀을 온유함으로 받는 의무. (19-21) 그리고 그에 따라 사는 것. (22-25) 헛된 겉치레와 참된 신앙의 차이. (26,27)
6But let him askinfaith, nothingwavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the windandtossed.
6 오직 믿음으로 구하고 조금도 의심하지 말라 의심하는 자는 마치 바람에 밀려 요동하는 바다 물결 같으니

13Let no mansay when he is temptedㆍ, I am temptedofGod: forGod cannot be temptedㆍ with evil, neithertemptethheㆍ any man:
13 사람이 시험을 받을 때에 내가 하나님께 시험을 받는다 하지 말찌니 하나님은 악에게 시험을 받지도 아니하시고 친히 아무도 시험하지 아니하시느니라
