16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatlymultiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forthchildren; and thy desireshall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
16 To the woman he said, Great will be your pain in childbirth; in sorrow will your children come to birth; still your desire will be for your husband, but he will be your master.
16 또 여자에게 이르시되 내가 네게 잉태하는 고통을 크게 더하리니 네가 수고하고 자식을 낳을 것이며 너는 남편을 사모하고 남편은 너를 다스릴 것이니라 하시고
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursedis the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eatof it all the days of thy life;
17 And to Adam he said, Because you gave ear to the voice of your wife and took of the fruit of the tree which I said you were not to take, the earth is cursed on your account; in pain you will get your food from it all your life.
17 아담에게 이르시되 네가 네 아내의 말을 듣고 내가 너더러 먹지 말라한 나무 실과를 먹었은즉 땅은 너로 인하여 저주를 받고 너는 종신토록 수고하여야 그 소산을 먹으리라

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
18 Thorns and waste plants will come up, and the plants of the field will be your food;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eatbread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dustthouart, and unto dust shalt thou return.
19 With the hard work of your hands you will get your bread till you go back to the earth from which you were taken: for dust you are and to the dust you will go back.
